There will be a new car added shortly, and a new track not long after. I'm not aware of any immediate content updates (to existing ones) planned soon, though they are needed, they may wait to group multiple fixes together so you aren't having to update a hundred times (and get feedback from people on a hundred different versions).
I agree with you, with addition that 100% sim without decent gfx representation is also not a sim too. I caouldn't say current gfx is 'more than adequate'. IMO it is not even adequate. I would rather say 'it is acceptable'. Your 'more than adequate' with conjunction of 'I am not looking for pCARS graphics' means that you don't want realistic gfx in simulation.
Happy to report that I too received a 20-30FPS boost with the latest update. I'm running on ATI hardware, as well.
Me? I just attempted to tell how I see when driving fast, I intentionally leave out not important things and focus to only edges of road etc. it really does not matter for me if there are only graphics of that 1981 game or something more modern when I try to drive fast, but of course when going slower it would be nice to have pretty pictures too.
And I think your "means" in conjunction with "don't" with the possible exception of "want" means you're just over-sensitive to what people say about graphics

Maybe, but then again without glasses I have nature's own motion blur cranked to max... Also I suffer bit from this, even they don't diagnose such things here. http://www.aoa.org/x5253.xml Sitting front of screen most of the time since 80's.
Hehehe, sounds a bit like me, though my issues stem from not wanting to get up from the computer, not just sitting in front for too long.
Well I agree with jtbo. If you really want go fast and test your driving limits you want to strip the audiovisual representation to minimum. If you just like to enjoy driving then nice audiovisuals add to the experience. I happened to love Stunts racing game because it audiovisual feedback was so minimal that you really just focused on driving perfection. Lap after lap after lap... It was very nice hotlapping game. I never had such fun with modern simulators, they offer eye candy for other purposes.
need for speed shift and codemasters formula1 are gathering dust on my desk, but you guys are over the top me thinks
Nah, just different view to world. I do really like pretty pictures too, but when I get serious for hotlapping, it really does not matter at all how pretty or ugly graphics are as long as one can see where one is going. There was also other game like stunts for Amiga, it had more ideas put into it, but was laggy and buggy, still I liked it a lot: And I still would like rF2 a lot if graphics would be like that, don't know why, but it just is so for me that graphics are just a bonus, certainly a nice bonus, but I'm terrible finding bugs in graphics as I just don't notice them.
The graphics are better or worse is no problem to drive, which is a problem are graphic errors. See vibrating textures, shadows generated few feet ahead or objects appearing out of nowhere is very annoying.
Yes I do. Especially while people says they doesn't care about gfx in sims. In result, we have no single simulation with decent/modern gfx engine... why should companies invest time and money to develop realistic looking gfx if customer is happy without it?
Despite one or two people over- and mis-interpreting, I will clarify by saying I agree. If perfect graphics can accompany perfect physics, then do it. Assuming not, and one thing has to suffer, let it be the graphics. Since the graphics when sitting still are more than adequate for my purposes in rF2, I am focusing my distress on the shimmering, flickering, vibrating textures and wonky shadows and jaggies. Problem is that to fix all these will likely kill frame rates, so....???
Really? I have a feeling that majority says that they doesn't care about gfx. Read the last 20 posts from this thread and count how many users said, they doesn't care about it when hot-lapping. Then go to screenshot thread to see people excited about ****ty looking pics. If your thesis was true, ISI wouldn't learn graphics right now - they had 7 years for it.
