Released Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (2018) is now available!

A hotlapping competition Cup/Nords would be great. Who can run the cup the fastest around the green hell?

Hell yeah! I was actually thinking about a TimeTrial mode ala Automobilista. Would be a great thing for rf2. I mean not everyone has the time to race leagues or even AI, but often one still finds a couple minutes a day to do a few laps without any obligations.

Have grown to like this car alot Thanks.
One criticism would be the FFB needs to be turned down. I'm reducing the FFB multiplier from 1.00 to 0.93 because it's too strong.
Other than that nothing to complain about a good addition to rF2

Take a look at this video...there are many more. The delay between shifts is way too long in the rf2 version, the sound doesn't provide enough gearbox whine and just sounds flat. Compared to every other Cup car, this one probably sounds the worst.

I have to say this is nonsense.
Compared to every other Cup car, this one probably sounds the best.
I had side by side comparison audio test of Flat 6 mod, new Porsche GT3 Cup and RL video of yours.
As sound is important to me now I realize why I immediately fell in love with S397 Porsche GT3 Cup (don't tell my wife).
It is one of the best sounding car of all sims.
Dynamic range of the sounds is huge!
It is very similar to that real life car video. So immersive.
and just sounds flat
Flat is the opposite adjective when describing this car's sound. This is one of the richest sound in sim racing.

Edit: Thanks to developers for this great fun car.
Excellent and immersive ffb, handling, sound and graphics.
All thing together one of the best rf2 car ever in my opinion.

first of all Thanks S397 the car is fantastic, in my opinion, with this, you have overcome yourself !!
Audio matters: I fully agree with what Filip claims!
now, without wishing to offend anyone, I want to highlight a small but important audio detail that many, in my opinion do not take into consideration during the comparison - youtube video - rF2.
the audio we hear while watching the video is the one that records the camera's microphone (and the camera does not use the helmet) in rF2, with this Porsche we hear the real audio, that is how it perceives sounds and noises, the driver who drives wearing a helmet (the helmet suffocates our hearing a bit) although I don't really appreciate the helmet simulation (I'm already pretending to drive, now, even pretending to have a helmet on my head, you know ... it breaks me a little bit l 'immersion) the quality and fidelity of this audio is very high

I would add to that: the audio you hear from onboards is distorted pretty heavily due to oversaturation of the microphone cause the volume is so high. So what you hear from onboards is usually not exactly how you'd hear it IRL. Having said that, I do think that the rf2 Cup cars engine does sound a bit thin and overly whooshy (and don't mean the whine of the gearbox, that's quite ok) as if it was a turbo assisted engine. The car is fantastic though!

Fantastic car! Being a Porschephile I must admit this is the best Cup car in simracing so far. Every 911 trait is there and if you know how to drive it it is a blast and the car will pretty much do whatever you ask of it - including sideways action. It punishes sloppy driving and requires quicker reactions than the spec sheet would suggest, so don't come at it expecting another GT3 style "Ï'm a racing God from lap one" race car - this is as far from GT3 as one can imagine.

Concerning versions - the description on s397 site is somewhat confusing starting with describing the 3.8L engine and than going over to the 4.0L it seems that the rf2 version is the 3.8L version with sequential dog-box operated with the paddles.

iRacing's Cup car is not the GT3 R however since thwe GT3 R is the GT3-class car. Just as the RSR is the GTE/GTLM-class car.

do i need to blimp the gas after downsift ?
should i use the clutch for smoother breaking ?
both ?
o dont own a sequencial gearbox

Car behaviour is totally overmodeled and insonsistent , corner driven exactly like the lap before and the rear steps out or doesnt , just as the cars random number generator decides.
car feels better and more believable with cold tyres .
sound ok , ffb ok with the exception of bumps and curbs , these are hitting too strong.
