Released Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (2018) is now available!

AWESOME, it's so more challenging than the GT3R version, my favorite car.....
FFB is strong, it's AWESOME, it's not easy like the GT3....
Very good job s397 team, I know what car I will race very often....
About the skins, it's not bad....better than the shadow skin from Mc laren...
The cup car seems more CPU taxing than all others s397 cars....+40% more taxing about CPU, it needs seriously an optimisation....
30 AI GT3R 99% GPU 120FPS, 30 AI GT3 CUP CAR 60% GPU 80 FPS, lol ???? this car increases the CPU load for about +40% so the GPU is noit maxed !

Thanks for sharing, Christopher!

Are those Porsches competitive to your other GT3 cars / packs ?

...

I'm a bit puzzled about inconsitency of your descriptions...

When it comes to the ultimate customer race car, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is probably high on the list, if not the leader, as it features in so many races. Used not only in the Porsche Cups around the entire globe, but also in several other racing series, including the all-famous 24 Hours at the Nürburgring, this Weissach masterpiece is one-of-a-kind. A 4.0-litre with six cylinders, using of course the boxer configuration, pushes this racer in a blink of an eye through every tough corner.

So what is it really ?

...

In that context, there's something I wanted to ask for a very long time now.

Why don't you add the tech specs for each car in the Steam Store ?

I'm missing those technical details since the beginning and I reckon, it could help raise your sales, because not everybody is willing to buy a cat in a bag, so to speak.

Besides that, keep up the good work!

Cheers!

The CUP car, from what I have read, is the simplest version of the car. It is not compatible, at least in a series, with the other Porsche's offered in the GT3 or GTE packs. Also from what I've read, the CUP car is considered the purest version of Porsche's racecars. No ABS, Traction control, I don't think it even has paddle shifters. The only cars it competes against are other Porsche CUP cars.

Watching the trailer, I noticed the under car shadow appears way too dark...

Does that come from the car or the track ?
Is it maybe ambient occclusion, messing with the shaders?

Drove some laps. The ffb is okay but this is a car that you are supposed to balance with throttle and brake and I don’t get much of that sense here. It is more challenging to drive but doesn’t feel like I can balance it well.

Graphics are heavy too for some reason. Not sure why.

The biggest issue I have is the sound. Honestly, the worst sounding Porsche in all of sim racing. It’s bad. Like really bad.

Dash lights also don’t show lockup of the wheels which is incorrect.

I’m still putting AMS and the new R3E versions of this car as the best. This one needs some work

Since I've complained about lack of skins in previous car packs I think it's only fair that I say thanks and praise the amount of skins in this pack. Nice selection of skins. :)

I've made 8 laps or so on VIR (the Reiza version, real road "medium" preset, default car setup, no aids), which is my go to track for testing new cars.

This car is very challenging to drive. In comparison, the regular GT3 and GTE Porsche are like having autopilot. It took me a few tries to be able to make a full clean lap. You can feel that there is no TC nor ABS for sure. Braking distances are huge, and if you downshift too fast, car will likely spin out. Car has a tendency to oversteer. FFB feels great (G27). Sound is average. Car modelling (exterior) is top notch, like all other recent cars. For now, it's difficult for me to keep up consistently with AI at 100%, but I'm improving :)

Overall a good challenging car, different from recent other easier to pickup cars, that will require a good amount of training to be comfortable (and fast) with it, though I have zero idea if the car is artificially harder to drive than in reality.

EDIT: after more laps on VIR, confirming that car is a blast to drive and attempt to push to the limit.

Thats true mate. The Sound needs some love..
The rest.. I love it !
I thought the sound was pretty accurate if you compare it to onboard videos, at least the gear whine / engine noise ratio seemed similar.

Anyway, nice car. After getting used to longer braking distanges very fun to drive. Feels rather forgiving when the back steps out, but maybe that's how the real car is.
