Released Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (2018) is now available!

It's sad that we get the Cup with perfect yellow line on the wheel, while the GT3 has, over 9 month after release, still nothing!
Also the sound of the Cup is bad. It's not good and not even ok, it's bad.
You get constant buzz or hum when driving like it's bad audio recording.
Also while shifting the is no sound. It's really strange. The sound overall is really bad on this car sorry to say this.
the sounds is not bad is just not réalistic! i like the sounds but yes is not realistic...:(

Interesting mix of, "This car is the bestest!" and "This car is the worstest and Studio 397 is incompetent". The things most of the complainers are making points of are not game breakers and frankly, are not S397's strengths (Sounds). I dont care for Porsche in pretty much any sim I've driven so far, it doesn't suit my driving style. But the guys I know who enjoy the Porsche really think it is the bees knees. I purchased the car for use by the league even though I dont plan on driving it. And I think the price was pretty reasonable to boot.

Interesting... I was about to post that the above could probably be the 997 version, but apparently the French have the 991 version with those specs:

4l is 2020 or 2019 version?

iracing has a version of 2017 4L 480cv strange

According to the "911 GT3 Cup (991)" page of Porsche Germany, the car has 3.8l with 460hp, so that 4l 480hp version for iRacing is probably a Porsche 997 GT3 R, at least that's what in found on the German Wikipedia page.

The plain "911 GT3 Cup" page of Porsche Germany also states 4l and 485hp, so I guess that would be the actual or upcoming version, whereas S397 chose the previous one.

Man, this is confusing...

I just found something on the english Wiki pages

At least that clears up my confusion... :D

It would be nice and helpful if someone from Studio 397 could clarify what exact version they built.

In terms of the flat6 mod, it's obvious that the engine could be only one part of the truth, the sound quality in total lacks. It's not totally bad, but behind the rest of the sims. Hope this will be changed soon.

Nordschleife + Porsche 911 GT3 Cup = Totally Awesome Blast! The tracks and cars S397 are putting out are just amazing. The AMR GTE and other GTEs, GT3s, with Sebring, VIR, Imola, Le Mans, and Nürburgring and others are just so nice and amazing. Just one plug for a request, please add COTA to the list. Thank you!

Fantastic car! Being a Porschephile I must admit this is the best Cup car in simracing so far. Every 911 trait is there and if you know how to drive it it is a blast and the car will pretty much do whatever you ask of it - including sideways action. It punishes sloppy driving and requires quicker reactions than the spec sheet would suggest, so don't come at it expecting another GT3 style "Ï'm a racing God from lap one" race car - this is as far from GT3 as one can imagine.

Concerning versions - the description on s397 site is somewhat confusing starting with describing the 3.8L engine and than going over to the 4.0L it seems that the rf2 version is the 3.8L version with sequential dog-box operated with the paddles.

iRacing's Cup car is not the GT3 R however since thwe GT3 R is the GT3-class car. Just as the RSR is the GTE/GTLM-class car.
