Anticipation, anticipation
Is makin' me late
Is keepin' me waitin'

Hey all, just thought I'd give you all an update on the classic cars mod. As you may have noticed there has not been any screens on any new developments. That's because we are now optimizing and preparing the models which are going in-game for the first open beta which Adubz mentioned on here a few weeks ago. The process is still quite a lengthy one but the cars are now being prepped and placed in game. What we're doing is developing all the LODs and final optimizations, then the car goes to the in-game guru Adubz who will add them in game. From there we work on physics, and once the engine file is final for each car and the physics are somewhat complete, we begin to make engine sounds. Engine sounds are done last because any changes to the engine file after the sounds are made could have impact on the sounds, so that is the last process to do. After that, the cars are given a final test and then beta is released. We'll keep you all up to date with how things are going and show you all some in-game shots here and there. Things are coming along nicely though and the open beta isn't too far off.

Yep final optimizations are going on now guys, we will have 5 cars in the open beta and they will be:

1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS
1968 Lamborghini Miura P400
1970 Dodge Challenger R/T
1978 Pontiac TransAm
1981 DMC DeLorean

No race cars for now as they take a little more effort :P, though these cars should put up some very close racing me thinks.

Excellent news guys...

;) Jim... doncha just love this getting older lark ? I think I've forgotten more than I knew

Now back to the advertised toipic........

Antici....pation was the line from The Rocky Horror Picture show yes....by Mr Drag Queen dude.... yeah ?
Why dont you stay for a night!

Great news, but please make sure you get the physics right before you release it. Don't spoil the experience of driving these classics with strange handling, take your time...

Any guys who know how to make physics and are willing to help please contact Petros, we could use your help! :)

Yes right now we could use some extra hands to help with physics, so if anyone is interested in joining in and helping, will help us get this beta out quicker! :)

Hello everyone! How's everyone doing today? Ready for some new updates on the Classic Cars Mod? Well, here goes.

As many of you know we've been optimizing models and working on the cars that will be released soon in the public open beta. As all but one of these cars are left to be optimized for in-game process, Dmitriy has been working on the Sauber Mercedes C11 while waiting for the last car to be prepped for optimization. So we thought we'd show you all the progress on the C11. The exterior is now finished and Dmitriy will be moving onto the interior today. From there it will go into the UVMap process, paint process, optimization process, in-game process, physic base and then sound development. That is the usual scenario all cars go through in that order. The Sauber Mercedes C11 will be released in the racing expansion of the classic cars mod along with the Mazda 787B, Porsche 962C and several other racing cars of other genres of racing. These racing cars won't be in the initial open beta as explained previously by Adubz, but will make it as soon as possible in the racing DLC expansion which will be free of course. Just stating that now so people don't think when I say DLC, I mean paid. Its all free.

In any case, we hope you enjoy the screenshots below. Dmitriy is enjoying working on this car considerably and hopes you will all enjoy it too when it is released. Thank you all for your support, I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

Unlike the 2007 mod where things got messed up and files were lost (but got the PSD's again recently which I'll release soon), I am ensuring that every car in the CCM mod will have template PSD's released for all of you to enjoy developing your own liveries on and to make it easier on racing leagues to distribute templates to their members. So yes, we will have public templates for each car available. :)

As has been said before but very much worth saying again, it`s looking/sounding very good indeed. And nice to know the templates will be available too.

Great work guys. All I have to do now is learn to paint lol... :)
