Just ran the new beta release candidate.

Yes, some great improvements straight from the off.
No more black box in VR, liveries appear to be working again, and I can even see that the road is actually wet when its raining :-)

  • Added driver and car info displays to full screen replay; steering, throttle, brake, clutch, speed, rpm, gear and g-force traction circle. This information will also be shown live for a driver

  • does it mean while racing the inputs can be seen finally?

Are there any disadvantages from switching from one to the other and back again with the Opt Out/none, Release-Candidate and Previous-Build as far as the updating of game files, etc..?

Edit: In that settings for game controllers, graphics, if the changes being made, or made, include aforementioned.

The hud while racing is not working on my side, even though the hud is enabled on display settings, the whole hud is not visible, in replays its working, the inpus gforce etc is there.
You are reading too much into Paul's statement. It DOES mean they will be able to display a hud with pedal inputs. But it does NOT mean they have done so yet.

I am finding more visual contrast in VR using a Lenovo Explorer on a Vega64. I only drove the new Diriya so don't know if that's an improvement across the board from the new release candidate or just for this track. It ran at the normal 90fps (with reflections and shadows off). I didn't have any issues, but I don't do a lot of the things that people report as problems. I've been running the new UI and I'm not a fan, but that's what it is. Tonight, I finally realized something that has made doing stuff in the UI in VR irritating.. In VR, you have to keep turning your head to navigate the UI. It's like you're sitting in the middle seat in the front row of an IMAX theater. Now I understand why I instinctively turn off VR when I need to do any management stuff in the UI.

A suggestion you might want to try.. I set my screen resolution in the Video Settings to 1176 x 664 for VR use. It seems to be about perfect size to see the whole UI without head movement(doesn't effect driving in VR just UI size) and also in window mode allows you to make changes to background programs like simhub etc without alt tabbing etc. as you can use the curser/mouse to move the rF2 screen around and back to centre of monitor after changes. Theres also the new VR mirror function that you can navigate UI without headset in VR then put on goggles just to drive. I just switched back to the new UI today as the new RC build has finally removed the feint black line while driving in VR so I don't know what effect the VR mirror function has on fps or how good it works.

I was talking about the opt-out (main build) version here

Then I'm not sure I understand the question. You can choose the RC right now and play online - it has the same build number as the opt-out version. The whole point of the RC is to give people the chance to test it and find problems (or continuing bugs) before it's made the 'main' version. So how quickly that happens will have a floor (no point only testing for a day, for example) and doesn't really have a ceiling - if some bugs crop up, it won't be made the main.

Oh right. I like being on stable builds but i will check the rc version too. Thanks!
