AH AH AH ! A guy thinking like me on this subject.

Actually I think ISI / S397 cars are the best (not necessarily in terms of sound / graphics, secondary criteria in my opinion).

That being said, maybe I'm wrong.

I will soon do a comparative test between the really excellent mod Apex GT3 (for me the best GT3 mod) and GT3 S397 (real data, latest technology S397/tires etc.).

before making super cars it would be wise to make series for future Official Online Competition!!

-GT3 Séries: "blancpain endu & serie & ADAC GT master" check! (just add porsche, audi, lambo in the futur) :D
    -Radical series: SR3 RSX: check
    -Meganne trophy II: check
    -clio cup: check

    -Open-wheel Series: (big choice)
    Kart: check
Skip Barber: check but need recast
    USF2000: check
    Formule2: check
    FR3.5: check
    indy: check
retro: F1 & 2 60's check (need more retro model with Brabham BT44B) check!

now for me (just my opinion) rf2 need
-Le Mans Series: LMP1 & LMP2 and GTE
-Super GT the studio need just 3 or 4 licences Lexus, Nissan, Honda for GT500 and Toyota / subaru for 300 just add GT3 with new bop and full series! super GT500 & GT300 :D
-V8 Supercars Series: 3 licences Holden/ Ford and Nissan
-24H Nürburgring VLN & Open GT champ (gt3/4 and tcr) :p
    -Nascar: Trucks & Sprint

And especially the most important are the Tracks!! (laser-scan if possible!) and official online race!! :D

    @Oldseb
You want laser scanned tracks like me "if possible".
For what follow, for me it is absolutely essential :

"24H Nürburgring VLN & Open GT champ (gt3/4 and tcr)"

I agree with keeping the primary focus on Race Cars; AC and ProjectCars are there to satisfy most people's needs and it's totally possible to acclimate to AC's handling given some time, coming from rF2. For some fun in varied driving conditions, PC2 actually does a decent job at times but, only with certain track / car combinations as the content tends to be very hit & miss with various inconsistencies and some serious issues yet to be sorted. With PC2, clearly - the focus is on quantity over quality, especially in regard to some deeper Simulation aspects. PC2 does demonstrate to me though, the value of variable racing-conditions and the resulting unique circumstances that can arise.

I do enjoy having track-day cars, Touring and GT4 class racing as well and would love to have more quality examples to choose from in rF2.

In regard to rF2 audio, I still feel that the sound-engine holds the quality of audio back - especially in replay terms but, getting the audio to a similar level as Reiza is doing with AMS with recent enhancements and consistent, balanced and quality samples could go a long way to improving rF2 audio experience. For me, I'll often choose cars based on audio immersion - especially when other aspects of the cars are comparable.

We have a lot of gasoline engines, but none Hybrid.
With the current rF2 is not possible to make a hybrid engine.
With good data someone could make Supercars, GT3, GTE, etc.
But is impossible to make a hybrid. And this system could be used for touring and openwheels.

I'm a little off topic saying this but since we talk about engine type etc. :

The choices of ISI / S397 are unfortunately almost always focused towards V8 engines. Probably because of the "USA DNA" of ISI.

What a pity that we have no more noble engines!

Of course physics / FFB are the most important. But you all agree that the interior sounds are very important!

    Just two examples:
Lambo murcielago GT1 (V12) or Maserati MC12 GT1 (V12) ... it would still be anything else in terms of pleasure / immersion (because of the sound).

    Just to say...

Would love to try all sorts of cars in rF2 and I don't care much if they are race cars or not.
And yes sound adds to immersion even more than cockpit imo

    https://forum.studio-397.com/index....-to-feature-official-formula-e-content.57141/

It was reported that they have licensed Formula E, so it's coming, at least the electric part.

Depends how you read it, the RaceDepartment article clearly thinks differently.

    Pretty sure Formula E wouldn't be a good fit for a GT3 bundle. ;)

Sorry, but Formula E isn't a Hybrid system.
With the current rF2 system you can't have different wear, two engines (electrical and gasoline).
The same with the consumption, etc.
The Formula E is much more simple than a Hybrid system.

While I agree hybrid system is probably the most needed missing technology to accurately represent some of the biggest racing categories nowadays: LMP1 and F1, I wish it would have never been introduced to racing cars.

It is clearly damaging the spectacle and rising costs unnecessarily. You only have to see the latest years of each category. Almost an LMP2 won Lemans due to reliability problems. In F1, teams are continuosly replacing units penalizing with grid positions that distort everything. The complexity of such systems makes no sense IMO. Once batteries evolve (like mobiles batteries did) full electrical systems will prevail. Hybrid is just a stupid necessary intermediate step.

    Yes, i agree.
Actually, I don't like electric or hybrid cars.
    I remember the sound of F1 V8 and V10.
And when i hear the current F1...:(
But the reality is what it is....sadly

Thanks to hybrid systems systems Porsche and Audi retired from Lemans series.

In 2018 only one hybrid team will take part: Toyota. For that reason there will be a single LMP1 category mixing both hybrid with fuel powered cars.

The BOP will be a disaster probably and Toyota will have no real opponents. Hopefully Alonso will win that way...

    Thanks hybrid technology.
