What a great work!. I have been hosting a race last night with the four cars in version 1.7 for me and two friends. The cars looks amazing, feels really really good. Tire's wear is good and equal in all tires.
We want to release all cars in 1.7 version, then we put in every car driver with animation and some 3d upgraded parts(new tires, new spindle, new rims, new seat).
It's simple, test out the default setup and see how fast you can go around corners and on straights. Decrease them wings by a bit and run. Increase them by quite a bit and run. Besides the speed values through same corners and straights, pay attention to how you get around low speed corners and if the car still drifts away or resists turning. Can anyone else try running Spa and see if they also lose a lot of speed over areas with elevation changes compared to AI? Especially Eau Rouge and exit of Pouhon.
I just did, Downforce at 8 front 8 rear, Rease the car a bit, Stiffen the springs, and your are flying.
hmm the car seems to 'fly' off for some with really low wing settings Are the increments maybe too big so we end up with too much downforce with high wings?
Yes could well be, heres a vid of eau rouge with highest ride front and back you will see it looses very little speed. Also notice with my fov @ 40 i cant see the mirrors as thats as far back the seat will go.
Thanks for the video, baked bean . The AI runs the default setup and they have no issue with bottoming out and friction. About downforce, the thing is, how realistic is it that a car from 1992 would run such low wings? Why would there be any wing settings requiring more than 20 at the rear even at Monaco?
thanks for the answer "baked bean". I will be hosting Palm Beach tonight with all the cars from version 1.7 There is no password, so, feel free to join in for practice or some short races.
