So this is the screen where you will be able to create a server from the web. For now, you can specify the: 1. Session times (practice 10 mins, qualify 15 mins etc) 2. The data and time the server should be created and run 3. The cars to be included in the server 4. The track and the number of maximum players
Yeah i LOVE the historic EVE and F2/F3 cars on Monte Carlo 66' and Belgium 66'. But maybe Beligum 66' is a mod? I cant remember, but its REALLY well made and super fun to race with the EVE's and F2's.
are you sure? i have done that at my first steam installation but rf2 has downloaded all official contents in ..../steamapps/common/rfactor2/cache/
I had checked this cache folder yesterday and nope ..... no "unwanted" content. The package subfolders are there, but empty. At least on my installation.
Hi guys! So that you know, we are trying to make Justrace work with dynamic mod creating for specific cars and tracks and not one huge big mod! But we encountered an error with modmgr and waiting for support from Studio 397 here: https://forum.studio-397.com/index....ger-failing-to-create-mod-from-datfile.54152/ We are really hoping that they give us a helping hand
Just wanted to let you know that we are testing on our staging environment and so far so good All these servers are scheduled from the web app and automatically started and stop.
Guys, I think we cracked it, that is, we managed to create and install mods with just the required components (and not with all cars and tracks) When you have some time, can you please filter with justrace and try and join and see if the mod is downloaded and ONLY the missing 1 car and track are downloaded (of course if you dont have them!) Servers will be up and down a lot as we are testing Thanks!
Just wondering, how this is working. It doesn`t matter, if the e.g. track doesn`t have a getmod url included in the rfcmp? Because Road America 2016 havn`t one...
Hmm, good point! Did it work for you or Road America was not downloaded? I switched ON "Enable Autodownloads":true and put all components in Packages folder...
interesting It could be uploaded by your server, but Marcel has stated not so long ago that having auto download missing component directly via the workshop would be the ideal way and it is something that they are looking too. Don't know where I saw that...
No, it wasn`t working. Wich is a bit strange, all ISI Mods & Tracks does have the getmod url, while S397 stuff doesn`t have it... //EDit: tried again and now it was working.
Hm...interesting. Would that mean, that getmod, as it was working previous, isn`t longer supported by S397/rF2? If getmod is now working with the host server only, with direct download from the server package folder, this could be a hughe bottleneck, isn`t it?
I would like to see the tracks, instead of slowwwly uploading to each user, send the installed tracks to a fast connection that rF2 automatically connects to. So instead of sending data whenever a user tries to join, the server could send it's cars and tracks just once, to the centralized server. Then, if I needed to download a track or group of cars, rF2 would get them for the user off the speedy connection instead of trying not to burden the actual host server with those very slowwww downloads.
quick test, The road america was downloading, but quit slow, so I stopped and downloaded it on the workshop, much faster. After the download complete the server had change to another one with LRP. I joined without issue. Weather was clear, track was green, no aid (good good !) ping was around 100ms for me Keep the good work !
