SOLVED Reported crashing with new build

Delete content folder /bin64
(E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Bin64)

Check steam games integrity files (will re download content folder)

Check on parameter launcher the name of your graphic card, he disapear for me. Put on English language to apply new parameter.
Close parameter launcher
close rfactor2 (pray, it's just a superstition)

Personnal Solution :

just some crazy think who solve crash before enter on a map (circuit).
for me, i change Hub USB conection to 3.0, and not to 3.1 and it's stop crash loading on map...
My HUB contain Fanatec pedals and gearbox.

Just an idea...

I have the same issue, I cannot load any version newer than v1109 (dx9).

If I load v1110, v1111 or v1112, it crashes straight after hitting 'Single Player' and returns to the launcher. Trace does not output a log file.
 
I got a problem with Mod Dev from months..working only in 32 bit mod.
But now, after the last update 1112, Mod Dev is definitivelly out.
It doesn't start...I deleted all, and reinstalled from Steam ( with verifycation ), but nothing.
I deleted Steam and reinstalled it, and then rFactor2 ......but nothing.
I also formatted my PC, thinking about a virus induced bug.
Nothing.... What is happened to Rf2 Mod Dev?
 
I hadn't used rFactor 2 for some time. Went to run it and I had to update to new version. When it did that I cannot launch single player or anything. Not good. I have reinstalled rFactor2 and reinstalled Steam. Not good. WTH is going on?

I suggest to report as a bug from launcher ui, also attaching the trace file that is automatically generated loading (trying to load) rFactor2 devmode

If also other guys with same problem, apparently same problem, do the same, S397 will have data to investigate and some tech there will be able to identify the problem!

Without data, without a detailed report, I think that is difficult to identify the reason or reasons
 
Yes, I agree with Slow Motion, and I will send the Log to the Staff, in order to check what is wrong in my rFactor2.
By the way, I want to say I momentaneusly solved the problem....
With clean PC ( just reformatted....Windows 10 system ) , and all the Steam -rFactor2 complex downloaded as first attemptI tried several methods, above repoted ( delete all...and reinstall; delete Bin 64...; install again DirectX, ecc ).
The only one solution for me was to come back to Build 1111 ( indeed...I tried at the beginning also 1109 dx 9 ), and finally now rFactor retail, and also Mode Dev, are working....
 
Reporting I had the issue mentioned in the thread. My issue was going from version 1110 to1112. Went through the whole uninstall/install process/delete all files in the Bin64 folder before I figured it out. So, at 1112 I changed the beta update to 1110 (last working version) - played the game, ditto 1111 and 1112. Unloaded a bunch of mods as well.
Good luck with it! problems like this are annoying but in my case a bit of a brain fade.
 
if you are still in the beta, NONE of the newer content will work. You must OPT OUT of the betas to get new content working. Using 1110 will allow you to use older models that have not been updated with Rain improvements, PBR shaders, DLC content. etc etc.
 
So...if last build 1112 is not working, it’s better to come back to 1110 version, instead of 1111?
Anyway....something it’s happened in RF2 with the last build....but I haven’t seen any comment or suggestion from the S 397 staff.
I hope they can help us to understand what is the solution

no, last build is working, but ONLY if you use steam to opt out of the beta. If there was a full-stop problem for everyone, we would advise you of that. Most of the issues have been about Steam interfacing with rF2 and properly assigning DLC inventory. Rarely has there been an issue where the entire program is not loading. Although some users have reported crashes, most had not opted out of the beta program.

Opt out of the beta program

Verify the integrity of your install
if the program loads,
choose a S397 car,(like NIssan GT500) 1 S397 track, NOLA for example. 0 AI
one car, one track. only try to add more or use non S397 mods until you have verified
the ability of the sim to operate.

And post your specs please.

I've tried again, reinstalling last Build 1112.
The Retail is working, while Mod Dev has still the same issue, previously reported.
So, I went back again to 1111 build, and everything was working.

Your trace shows that the OW_F1_2018.rfm gets loaded.
Try it with "All cars and tracks" as "Series" and the original Joesville and Skip Barber.
Does it work with that?
And what happens if you use the 64 bit version?
 
It’s the same with Skip Barber Mod dev...Forcing 32 bit ( until build 1110 I was able to start Mod dev only in this way), when I try to launch RF2, the mask disapper for a moment, and then...nothing happens.
In 64 bit, the game ( Mod dev ) doesn’t start at all.
With build 1112 retail is working.
With build 1111 bot retail and Mod Dev ( 64 and 32 ) are working.
 
I'm gonna repeat this on about three threads, but I just had a light-bulb moment.
Plugins?
If you have any running, turn them off EXCEPT for the Steam plugin.
If that solves things. re-enable any of the plugins you were using ONE AT A TIME. Testing repeatedly before enabling another.

My question is:
When you delete RFactor and you re install it again, why should you turn off plugins...if you never run the game?
For me, everytime I uninstalled RFactor, and then I re installed ( no beta....last build ), The game had the problem with Mod Dev.
Teorethically, when You have a fresh install, everything should work....and then, in case You had troubles activating plugins, you should follow your suggestions

I still think there is something wrong in last build....too many people are posting problems, reading in this thread and on Forum.

just wanted to eliminate one more area of possible problems. Many of the plugin's that display to the screen, like the track map, won't work with the newer versions of rF2. So it was like I'd forgotten that and wanted to ensure I posted it. working from a fresh install of rF2 "SHOULD" eliminate that problem, but you never know. Check the plugin menu and verify that only the STEAM plugin is working.
 
I have the issue where rFactor2 crashes back to desktop when I try to load the track or the showroom (via vehicle > tuning).

The game starts correctly, and keeps working right until the moment the car should be loaded (after the enter track loading screen should dissapear or the car should load in the showroom. It crashes back to desktop without any error message.

I tried to select various mods, disabled all plugins, re-installed the game and did a steam integrity check, but to no success.

When I go back a build to v1111 or any lower the game works fine, but when using v1112 it does not. It worked last week, but I saw steam updating the game last week (january update) and since then it does not work anymore.

Can anybody help me with this issue?
I have the same, can;t even work in DEV mode, all mods i worked on last week functioned fine, now only get crashes to desktop while loading.
As soon as the loadingbar is full, it halts and CTD.
Will remove the BIN folder, see if that helps.

Did not help re-installing the bin folders.
Still CTD when the mod is finished loading.

EDIT2 - SOLVED!
There seemed to be an issue with rF2 when there is a MAS file in the folder of the vehicle.
It will not load. Even is that files is not mentioned in the *.GEN
