That's right! This says a lot about the consideration that both S397/Reiza studios have for the players who bought their games.

The Reiza pack was released in Mar 2019.

It got an update soon after, then if I'm not mistaken some extra layouts (different years) were added.

I understand the impatience, but rewriting history to prove a point isn't very useful.

Dude, rewriting history?? Sim racing is really, and I emphasise, really not that serious!!
And I have absolutely zero points to prove to anybody, anywhere.

Between 2019 and 2020/21 (I believe), yes there were some updates, but obviously the DLC has been considered to be in need of additional updates and here we are in 2024 after being told the latest updates will be provided and are completed, and we're still waiting.
There is clearly something fundamentally wrong when Reiza say they are waiting on S397 and S397 say they are waiting on Reiza.

For it to be announced in 2019 that content will be available to buy and then 5 years after release still awaiting updates of any kind is definitely not impatient! If an update was announced within the past few months then I would agree people are being impatient considering S397 and Reiza's current workload, If they said the update was only completed the past few weeks I would also agree people are being impatient, but come on, we are talking content here and not the core game especially when we've been led to believe the update has been completed for some considerable time now.

At least Microsoft provides me with fair share of updates. So much that I'll probably turn into Linux.

To me current Reiza Pack for rF2 is like Windows XP, it is just simply great.

Sorry, I didn't mean impatience in that way. I meant running out of patience is justified, given the huge time since updates were mooted and certainly since issues like cockpit camera movement were identified.

Still, that's no reason to say we've been waiting for an update since Mar or May 2019. This pack was up to then-current rF2 standard at its release, only later rF2 developments necessitated the graphical overhaul that the content still desperately needs (at least, to fit in with the other recent content).

the current ibarra in RF2 is one ofthe best looking tracks in rf2 still. even in its "old" tech state.
I own AMS2 so not particularly bothered about the tempo of this update, but, they released new updates to it in AMS 2 and its GORGEOUS!! when it comes to rf2, if its as its AMS2 counterpart, then i cannot wait to try the new ibarra in rf2.

Hey S397, there is no person on the team to give us an estimate of when this update will come out or if it will ever come out.
A shame as a company with its consumers.

This is on Reiza not S397, but I agree.

Is it? Or is this your opinion? I'm just curious. Do you have a link that proves this?

It's my understanding as it's been mentioned several times in this thread and it's called "Reiza Pack" so it made sense.
Is this wrong? Have I been lied to? Am I lying to people? Is my whole life a lie?

That's why I'm asking, maybe I missed some official statement. I have not seen either Studio 397 or Reiza Studios make an explicit statement about the situation. Ultimately what needs to happen is quite straightforward, Reiza deliver a set of rfcmp files to S397, who then need to convert those to paid content with a script. So the question then boils down to: did Reiza deliver these files and is waiting for S397 to run the script?

If I recall correctly, Reiza DID seek contact here to deliver the files, but there was something still to be done and the files were either returned to Reiza, or at least S397 were waiting for some further unkown action from Reiza.

Can't imagine S397 would want to release *anything* for rF2 at the moment and risk distracting from LMU

Something was said on Discord suggesting that they might be waiting on Reiza, but not exactly. Anyway, this has been teased and delayed so many times, it would be nice that someone at Reiza would update us on the situation when there's any change.

Could it be because Imola is also coming to LMU soon ?

    No one explained of course.
I talking way back when LMU was first announced.

    https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/reiza-pack-out-now.62760/page-36#post-1139548

My point being the same if you have a WEC licence would you go release a WEC track in another sim ?
rF2 and LMU are not the same sim, they are not clones either, that they same studio is not relevant.
Anyway unless previously agreed I would see it as a slap in the face.
When they released this news did they have a clue they would be doing WEC.
So why should that mean nothings changed.

Well so far I have proved correct and a few people think I act like a troll better be apologizing when Imola WEC is released first.
I wrong I will do the same.

P.S. Something I meant to add.
Remember Free is only for the people have brought the DLC beforehand.
Whether you give away a updated version, give away a new version or charge for a new version via DLC I can't see how WEC legal team would be happy.
Of course one will be Imola one is WEC Imola, I understand but I think perception is more important.
