Do you think that is motivating for our rF2 artist? What do they for the community? Patience, brings roses... Thank you for remain silent. Sincerely. Andy
"Eventually don't have the same explanation than "Eventuellement" in French even if it sound the same. In french that mean: Possibly, perhaps, not sure, but possibly. In English it seems, according to google translate, it mean something like: it will be done "finally", which mean it will be done at the end for sure 100%. I am right? I work a lot with English speaking persons by e-mail and I know each time I set an "eventually" in one of my sentence American colleagues understood: "for sure" so we had some misunderstanding. So for me, Luis post want to say a motivating "For sure" (IMHO). Saying that, both persons had a beginning of a start of a premise of a tingle of excitement and that's could mean goal is reach Great work so far Guys, really can't wait to see the result Sorry for OT, language differences are sometimes really interesting to study
Interesting! It's the same in german. The german word "eventuell" means possibly, perhaps .. too. I didn't know the english word "eventually" does have a very different meaning. I wonder how often I used "eventually" wrong in my whole long life.
As far as I am aware, depending on what tone and body language is used, it can be either an insult or positive reinforcement. "He will finish it eventually" :roll eyes:. is an insult meaning it will take the absolute longest time to get done. "You will get there eventually " accompanied with a squeeze of the shoulder. Is positive reinforcement meaning if you keep trying, you will succeed.
Mianiak beat me to the punch, but what he says is correct. It's both a positive and a negative, or neither, depending on context. You would be surprised at how many words in English can have completely different meanings, just based on WHO says it or even WHERE the word is being used. The many dialects of English are almost completely separate languages, as far as interpretation goes. The word 'eventually' to me (and most of the Eastern US, I believe), when used casually, is a factor of 'time'...and neither positive or negative, unless implied through context. It simply means an 'unspecified length of time into the future.' So in Luis Armstrong's post, I interpreted that picture as saying "We will be getting this sometime in the future, and will wait patiently until it arrives." The 'patiently' part coming from the picture of the sloth, of course. I don't want to get any more off-topic here, but the conversation of language interpretation is super interesting to me. Maybe we should have an off-topic thread dedicated to closing the gaps between languages, so we can better understand each other who come from different languages/dialects? Oh, and mianiak...keep up the good work, your efforts are greatly appreciated, and I apologize for de-railing your thread even further from the topic.
Definitely, reading text in a forum, can not be as easily understood as a long used statement - What is it that you don't understand about the meaning of "No!"?
I put together (what was supposed to be) the final package and it is being tested, but there are a few issues that need to be fixed. So I'd say a week or so.
Before then hopefully. I'm just getting the final fine tuning done now. Hopefully in the next couple of days I will get it right
