Released http://www.gamefront.com/files/24257669/Newerburg_v1_0_rar http://79.98.18.55/maniak/Newerburg_v1.0.rar http://simhqmotorsports.com/downloads/motorsports/rfactor2/tracks/Newerburg_v1.0.rar It's been about a year since this project was first started, initially it was just to be a quick conversion of the rF1 track to satisfy the need and fill the space for F1 tracks for rF2, but it kept on growing and it just wouldn't stop. I made a new track surface to suit rF2 better, then the terrain didn't match up properly, so I had to make new terrain to match the track. Then to bring it up to date it needed the two new buildings on the main straight (and a roller coaster). Then the old buildings didn't fit in with the new ones so they had to be rebuilt too. Then the textures didn't sit right,,,, and so on and so on... Now it's pretty well much become a scratch built project, the few remaining remnants of the original track are slowly disappearing and will soon be lost in time. It's still not finished but it's starting to resemble a finished project, so I think now is a better time than ever to announce this W.I.P. and I won't release it until it's finished (I saw what you were thinking ). I do however think its safe to say that it's a good chance that this will be my Xmas present to the community. Try this link for higher res http://s214.photobucket.com/user/mianiak/library/nurby
Thanks for all of the effort Mianiak. I'm looking forward to it, and that's a release right about the right time for me! I'll actually have some time to get to know the circuit (in rF2 Form)!
Better grass, I have never seen! I'm gonna bet this will be superb, top notch and possibly hard to outdo! A little stroking never hurts.
Looking goood mianiak and I agree, the grass does look very good indeed. This will be a much loved xmas present. (And yes... you did see what I was thinking )
Ahhh!! if you put this track at the Silverstone standarts, i pay you, better, i can help you if you want, can model.
You're welcome! I'm going as fast as I can, but keep in mind, all good things take time Thanks! HAH funny you mention that, cause I painted a lot of that grass in by hand and it gave me a cramp Thanks John, glad to have someone like you around, you always encourage me. I will try to include as many of the routes as posible. Thanks! Thanks, heh, I knew you'd think that It should be close to SS, considering the person who taught me all about modern day track making is one of the people who built SS No need to pay, I will earn more than enough from this. Thanks for the offer to help, but there s nothing really left to do here, just lots of small tweaks and fine tuning. You're welcome! Thanks! Me too
Im happy about this and I'm very curious how the quality can be, and if it was holding a comparison with the great competition of Project C.A.R.S. and GT5 (Bad names here, i know ;-))
I'm a frequent visitor of the 'ring (and the whole Nordschleife as well of course), so I'm pretty curious to see how good you'll match the surroundings, especially the paddock behind the pitboxes. I hope you will add some more pitgroups there from where you enter the pitlane when going on track for the guys who are using non-F1 mods which have a huge starting grid. I take it the people on the BMW stand will be scaled down for your (hopefully) Christmas release?
Yeah,,, ummm,, the paddock,, I kind of got carried away with that. I hope you don't mind loud music? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tRvIkQ3FhE As for the size of the spectators, thanks for pointing that out, either they are too big or the building is too small, I will have to look into it.
Thanks, Yeah I got a bit carried away with animations and I have Rock am Ring concerts playing in the background for inspiration, so it just kind of happened, but It probably won't end up in the track. This might, depending on time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxZl2G-xZmA
Now that is awesome... I`ve now got a massive bruise on my chin from when it rattled down to the floor! Fantastic work.
