Should this car be handling more like the new Vette?

I feel that Maserati feels much more loose (not stable) and has weak brakes compared to Corvette... braking distance is grazy long and when you try to brake it locks too easily and looses rear end.

Am I only one who feels this? Can this be looked at?

It's a fun car, but I also hated the braking. So I edited the hdv to have braking similar to the 370, much better now.

Firstly Tommy this mod is tip top mate. Bloody well done you should be proud! The Physics & FFB are right on the money and I know the cockpit will only get better and more refined in time ;).

Issues:- (v1.7)

1. A smallish issue I am having is I have to turn down the opponent sound to 1% (I'm using headphones) or else I cant even here my own engine even when sitting in the pits as all I can hear is extremely load track noise from every car that is out on circuit. When I set this so low when I am on the track I cant hear the opponent engines when In a close dog fight or when I approach. I haven't had this issue with any other vehicles and I normally have this setting set to 50%.

2. Tyre temp spikes. 700deg on LF @ Sebring start/finish straight. LR also spiked but nowhere near as big but what I did notice is both these wheels rotation speed drasticly dropped particularly the LF which went from 200 m:s to 6 m:s.

3. AI brake lights don't appear to be working. My Driverside brake light also does not appear to be working.

4. 2012 car is up to 10 FPS resource hungry than 2011 car. Tested @ Sebring.

Future Requests:-

1. Any chance of getting a car preview in list/spinner view rather than rF2 logo?
2. Any chance of seeing the hands/fingers move when paddle shifting gears?

Curious Qestions:-

1. Should the tyres be locked so that wets & drys cant be mixed?
2. 2012 has slow rebound adjustment should this be applicable in 2011 cars?

Cheers again

mm

I know that other mods have this too. At least f1ligue mod and T5 mod.

@ TG - I don't have these payware mods. Was thinking about however plenty of racers have knocked the physics. Is there a work around that you know of?

Hi guys, if you see I'm working on my Hockenheimring, but I know need an update on this car.
Too many things changed from the last update, but I think you understand I don't want to update this car after every build.

I know the sound issue, that's why ISI update all of the own cars. Need to update the reflections as well, tires, brakes etc.
So I will update the Maserati as soon as I can.

@mingmong
The gear shifting animation still not implement.
The light issue caused maybe the updated shaders but I don't know exactly, I have a look.
The car preview pictures I don't think it's important, because there are too many cars (2011 and 2012 = 78 skin) so if I make all preview pictures the mod will be bigger with 78 x 5,5 megabyte which is almost extra 430 megabyte which is just pictures.

Great news that you still support this mod :) I like the brand of Maserati and I like your models.

I really like how the Megane feels atm so if this could be more powerful version of Megane.

I don't want to download +400mb just because of pictures...

That's why I didn't create these pictures.

Is there anyone who use the 2011 version? Because I thinking I will remove the 2011 version from the new update, but still don't know. If someone need I will leave in the mod, but if not I will remove.

IMO just 2012 is enough. Somebody said that fps is better with 2011 so if you could bring 2012 to the same fps level.

@ Tommy - Great matey, looks like your all over it pal ;) I look forward to the next update.

Fair enough on the previews mate, no stress & I didn't think they would be 5+mb each. Maybe a generic one for each year could be an option rather than the generic rF2 logo.

Also I knocked the front bar off and there was no damage shown on the rF damage HUD graphic however it was on the Trackmap pluggin HUD graphic... Just thought id let you know.

First, thank you for your effort.
I really like this car, though the handling during braking is quite strange.
It seems to lose almost all downforce under braking.
You really have to 'nurse' it into corners.
Anybody have a solution?

I been doing a few laps and once you get use to the car it goes along very well. I have a public server up for this mod , maybe we can have a FunRun at 2:00:00 PM EDT UTC-4 hours today. I will keep the server up

Maserati - Poznan - Also Available on Race Server

Did some testing because I hadn't drive this car for a long time and not yet tested it with my T500RS.

Imo it just need little tweaking. It's already pretty good (physics, ffb and graphics all ok).

increasing brake map seems to help for braking (set it to 2 in Poznan).

Some things I would like to see changed:

- Making catching slides a little easier. Now you can't relly push with it. Smooth driving required. Not sure if it supposed to be like this?
-Improving the brakes (some more power and balance under braking maybe)
-When driving with the cockpit view the driver hands blocks my view sometimes. Also speed sensation is sometimes weird (seems maybe little shaky and slow, not sure how to explain, nothing too bad)

Do you mean your wheel oscillates alot down the straight?

What are your FFB & Wheel dampening settings?

My physical wheel? No. I meant my view shakes.

ffb are default 1.0 and 4 with all the cars atm.

dampening? resistance type is damping if you meant that?

@ TigGreen - Sorry pal I miss understood you... I don't have your wheel but I would guess that FFB = 1.0 & Smoothness = 4 would incur some FFB clipping. You can test this with peddle-map plugin. On my CSR Elite for this vehicle I'm at .75 with 22-26 Smoothness. On Sebring my FFB strength tops out at 90% thus no clipping and steering inaccuracy...

Have a read of this if you haven't already:-

http://http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/9878-Changing-FFB-Strength-Will-Make-You-a-Better-Driver

I don't have problems with ffb... but I can try your settings when I have time. Usually when I have tried settings below 1.0 or smoothing levels above 4 I have found ffb too weak and steering too light.
