Can you try that with bump cube specular map add alpha reflect t1 just for an experiment? Then you can use the fresnel, I'm curious to see how it comes out.
Thanks mianiak for your help. I will check this shader. In the meantime I did first night shadows tests, like all first tests it needs improvements but it looks promising.
feels...how did you do the shadows?? Witha decal object with a visgroup for the night like the lights rays for the lamps??
This is truly fantastic. I can't wait to drive it. I'm glad UK tracks are being produced, look forward to seeing many more at this high standard.
Can I ask how you map the layout? I know nothing about creating circuits but it's something I've always wondered. How can you map the widths, distances, gradients etc without laser scanning it yourself? E.g. Codemasters version of Castle Combe for TOCA 3 was the worst I've ever seen, did they just take an aerial shot and guess the rest? Your work looks amazing, just intrigued on how you get it so accurate?
Feels, If you have Donington ,Silverstone , Oulton Park or Thruxton on your Agenda ,give me a time machine and a box of king sized tissues
I am not a modder, but I recognize excellence and attention to detail when I see it. Feels, this is great work. I look forward to seeing more on this soon to be classic favorite. Well done. Randy
I have over 1500 photos from the track, over 30 onboards and few maps. Google maps also is very useful. @worthy1066 I have a lot of plans with tracks building but first I must finish Croft. There is a lot of things that I need to learn and it takes me some time
This really is great work Feels3, and I congratulate you on the immense effort going into getting it right. I really look forward to this track being ready for release, but don't change the way you are doing it, you obviously have a standard you go by and it is working for you, well done.
New details, new reflection textures, first tests with HDR. Next step are trees. Very nice Feels... You are doing a great job here. Very nice work, with very nice results. Can't wait for the track to be ready, so we can start using it for events! Awesome!
Very nice feels3 impressed so far! Little bit of constructive criticism - I'm sure you've thought about this already: The lamp posts look very odd - especially down the back straight (before Tower corner). Will you be moving them behind the barrier on the other side? Also how about doing what Snetterton did for BTCC night races in 1999/2000 when they had a section of the track with no flood lights at all - that could be the part to do it.
@Chris English Thanks for the advice. Night lighting I will do at the end and lamp posts are in early stage of development at the moment
