Thanks for the good news fohdeesha. New CPM is not yet being used. Tyres are taken from Houstons. New version uploaded (v0.23), the changelog is: - Corrected steering shaft (now lateral forces are better transmitted to the Wheel). - Corrected weight. - Corrected inertias. - Corrected CG position (taken into account driver). - Some minor tweaks to front suspension. <download removed> The corrected geometries can be seen in the screenshot below:
Are you able to take the BT20 tires and just alter the tire size? They are much improved over previous ones which could be comparable to the H4/H6 (in age too).
The last time I tried to modify the size of a tyre and generate lookup tables, I only got horrible CTDs. Anyway, I might eventually be able to get new CPM tyres for the Porsche 917, just let's have our fingers crossed.
On the latest version I'm getting crazy oscillation/vibration in the feedback on my wheel (t500rs). Turning the feedback down or the minimum force down didn't get rid of it, It's pretty violent too
Does anyone else have the weird vibration that fohdeesha is suffering? I did also notice it in my Fanatec GT3RS wheel while testying the changes, so I tuned down the steering shaft force so it didn't happen, but it seems to be still happening with other wheels.
Brilliant! Love it. Raced against T280s at Oulton and had huge fun Regarding vibration I am not getting that problem at all. G27. 0.65 strength. zero smoothing. No vibration problems.
With v0.23 half the windshield is blacked out for me. No weird oscillation with the Fanatec CSR though.
I had a look at the telemetry data and there is indeed high frequency ffb oscillation being sent to the wheel, going from almost +70% to -70% every 40ms, which comes out to an oscillation of about 25hz. Oddly it seems the t500rs is the only wheel so far able to actually reproduce ffb events that last this briefly, fanatecs have to be doing a bit of filtering if you're not feeling that, because it's definitely there. I would have thought a gear driven wheel like the g27 would make this a lot more noticeable than a belt driven wheel with a lot of gear chatter or something but guess not! Here's the trace, this is driving straight on a flat surface. Turquoise line is what's being sent to the wheel - http://i.imgur.com/CSrUYqN.png Here's the same part of the track in a different car (gt2 corvette), no oscillations - http://i.imgur.com/6mCvKlL.png Interesting! I don't know much about modding but it seems something in the steering rack is cranked up to the point where it's oscillating almost the whole ffb range pretty quickly. Wish I knew more so I could help!
Here's something very strange, 0.23 works great in singleplayer and there is no windshield, however in multiplayer it's magically back and causing the same crazy view. picture here - http://i.imgur.com/gfmyf93.jpg I only have 0.23 installed and nothing else. Where is it getting the windshield? Could it be some shader cache I need to delete or something? Friend had the same issue
I will try to update to 0.24 this weekend with the windshield completely removed and steering torque reduced.
It was not completely removed, just 'not shown' for distances below 0.5m If you move forward the seat, it should disappear.
Today I have a new version and some news that gives a new dimension to the mod. First of all the best news: I can now make public that the person behind the new 3D model is yoss, so everyone should be sure that graphically the mod will be top-notch. 3D model progress: - Body model is almost done. - Working on windows, tyres and rims. - After that, mapping, rendering and in the end, creating lods. New version 0.24 changelog: - Added a steering upgrade, where soft (for T500RS) or hard (rest of wheels) can be chosen. - New tyres, still no CPM but these will be the last ones before the scratch made new CPM tyres. - Completely removed windshield. - Corrected CoG position adjustability. - Added an icon placeholder. The car is now quite harder to drive, a little less permisive with rear slides, be careful! Download link: <removed>
Dunno. Really understeering severely for me even with RARB minimized but that might be realistic. Liked the last version much better but that is not reason to change anything of course so only responding in case useful or you have suspicions that arise or others have issues, etc. Otherwise may not be constructive but worth the risk to give feedback...
