    Everything is very bad. This is an unfinished mod for r factor 2.

    Come on, seriously. Are you guys adults or kids? Grasp what a license might require regarding a standalone game, and if you didn't see some teething troubles coming the moment "early access" was announced you're frankly a moron.

    If you want a finished game, don't buy early access.

    The cars may get scalped into rF2, and perhaps the tracks, but the tech?
    Likely not. You won't get the Hybrid systems etc.

    I only race BTCC without push to pass, F1 cars without DRS, so I wont miss anything ;), rFactor 2 for life, until rFactor 3.

    What really gets me is how they messed up the FFB. It's perfect in rF2, but in LMU there's a weird deadzone and the overall feel is like the "original method" of FFB used with the outdated cars. Just doesn't feel linear and there's random oscillations no matter what I do with settings. I assumed the driving would be exactly the same as rF2 but with new features like the hybrid stuff, but it just seems different.

    At least I know it's early access and there's going to be improvements, I just hope it doesn't take them a decade to get somewhere stable like it did with rF2.

    If you search for "trackir" in discord you will see several people reporting it doesn't work, and Coutie saying he's reporting it to the devs to look at. So i'll say no.

    It is an early access so things will improve for sure!

    Concerning the FFB I did think that it would be like in rF2 but maybe they want to attract a wider audience and make the FFB more like ACC for example??

    I don't know about that, I feel like rF2 FFB has the potential to be very noob friendly when dialed in to be realistic. The current state of LMU FFB would probably just frustrate new players. I really hope they improve it, otherwise I have very little reason to even play LMU over rF2.

    Add re-center in direct input.json, just assign any random function and edit after exit:
    },
    "VR : Re-Center head position":{
    "device":"OSH PB Controller (DTM)-CEB04E5ED5E2EF68",
    "id":38
    }

    Could work for keyboard but I did not get it to work.

    That´s what It´s missing for me right now, to be able to save you´re xxhrs. race because I don´t see myself driving solo for six hours straight for example. Yes I know theirs co-op In the pipeline but not everybody has a co-op buddy that would want to swap seats every 2.5hrs.

    Hope they add a save function (offline) along the road of EA.

    rF2 FFB didn't need any dialing in except for maybe overall strength and some wheel-specific fine-tuning parameters like filtering and minimum torque. That was the beauty of it.

    Now we are back to rF1 where we have a zillion FFB options and canned effects seem to be back (at least in the menu) with things like rumble strip pull factor etc. It's a bit ironic we are back to where we started and what rF2 attempted to get rid off.

    There's been no purposeful dumbing down of ffb. There are a few issues we are working through. Some settings are being removed which don't need to be there. The fake curb rumble is being removed too

    the FFB in rfactor 2 is stronger, I use 35% in both LUM and rF2, an rF2 is stronger, feels better.

    A stronger FFB is generally not "better" though. A stronger FFB means you are more likely to experience clipping. You should tune car-specific FFB strength so that FFB signal reaches maximum/red with peak forces in high-speed corners. Most sims used to default to too strong FFB to make it feel "better" on weak wheels like the G29. It's good that they are moving away from it as those with weaker wheels are free to bump up the force (and get clipping) if they want to.

    at 35% with a simucube 2 clip there is no clip ;), rF2 FFB is better, like the old Porsche and Mclaren, the FFB was more raw.
