What does rFactor 2 have for cheat protection?

More importantly. Is ISI going to ban cheaters from online play when they are caught?

We answered this concern years ago.

 

First challenge would be to actually get players online, apart from the league racers. Then later we can worry about cheating...

 

I've never seen any evidence of cheating. If people have while racing me, they're as bad at cheating as they are at racing.

Been told a number of times in threads how much more structured and better iRacing is for leagues and races.

Yet not a single person here makes a single comment about me accusing iRacing of being hacked and yes drivers cheating.

Instead you rather keep bagging " our" rFactor2.

Fantasy over Fact.

 

Because it's nonsense? Sure there is a site where idiots can download viruses and there occasionally is something that pops up but it gets delt with quite firmly once it's been caught.

If you equate the drivers numbers, well then I guess iRacing has more cheats then ISI.

I have often been heard saying

That is why we need rFactor3 to have a Pro version and a normal version. ( see my wishlist 3 years ago....... lol )

 

It's inevitable that cheating will happen in rF2 as it has in every other game made by mankind from the beginning of time. Video gaming in general suffers the problem of online cheating and this is the reason it has to be discussed. It doesn't matter about iRacing or any other game- every game either has now or will have cheating because human nature is what it is. I'm not trolling or raising a false alarm, but to think that rF2 is special in some way and rF2 players don't cheat is just nonsense. There has been no cheat discovered yet that anyone here can point to, but I have seen cheating in rF2 in one of the early builds a long time ago (though I had no proof) and I have seen a video of it. Maybe the later builds are better like that, I don't know.

ISI's official stance is that the game code prevents cheating and that's all we have to go with. There is no 3rd party utility that is widely available.

 

As there is no evidence that cheating occurs, I find this thread misleading. (Im glad it is, I would hate this happening.)
Next time give some facts about such serious matters please.

 

Can you describe the situation and video, since nothing was posted here? Was it relating to the actual software? If it never happened again (if it ever did) then it got caught on updates, intentionally or not.

Actually it was a mountain out of absolutely nothing.

 

I just watched someone in an MP race completely annihilate everyone on the straight-ways as if they had an extra 200 shot of nitrous oxide aboard. Not to mention the puffs of intermittent smoke that would come out for some reason every time this person did this. Power sliding out of corners every lap and yet still have 100% grip at the end of the race. Definitely not happening a lot or even enough to really be a problem, but there are a few individuals on MP that might have something going on.
