It's NOT going to be released today as it is still considered a holiday for most people! You have not seen any ISI people on the forum today have you? Steve
That specific feature (raindrops on screen) is likely to be turned off. Weather WILL be in the beta, but the windscreen and visor raindrops fx will likely not be initially. They'll be re-added during the beta. You'll stil have the drying line, reflections, changing conditions, lighting, clouds, etc, etc.
Sounds great, Tim. It'll separate rF2 from rF1 and iRacing nicely! Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to reply to all of us - I was going to PM, but can't PM you. Keep up the great work.
I LOVE bank holidays Oh, And don't release rf2 just yet, I just have to organise an upgrade 1st Busy, busy, busy.
I thought that said lightning for a second, that would certainly make things interesting " OH AND NUMBER 76 HAS BEEN TURNED TO DUST ON THE START/FINSIH STRAIGHT" lol
As long as there is a command I can type whereby my car doesn't get struck, I'd be fine with that. Aquaplaning wasn't active last time I checked, it's a part of the tire model which may still be disabled at the time of the open beta. Temps and drying were supposed to be linked to sun exposure, but I'm not sure where they got with that. Again, possibly not in the first beta.
Physics were the first priority. And yes you will get updates during the beta so that we can get out of beta.
Wil it be possible to use your own sky images for it? or are they computer generated? or i will need to make some new sky images for the mods of VLM
One more question about weather in open beta Tim. Will the weather be the same all over the track (some part of track in rain, some with the sun) ?
As above, not sure on the status of cloud cover effects. I was told that eventually a corner in shade will have a lower track temp and therefore more grip, and obviously cloud cover should eventually relate to rain coverage, but I don't think they are finished with either yet.
Ím highly interested on how clouds are generated. I mean some shape casting shadow must appear, then graphical representation must ne generated based on this shape as well as encironment conditions must be affected by casted shadow. Would be superb if some developer might say a few words about technicals
Of course GTrfreak is right! It was a Tim mistake for sure. Obviously if there is a lower track temp in some part you'll have less grip on it...
