Thanks When I get a few mins I will start a new thread about subjects wanted for further videos. Keep the suggestions coming peeps!
Don't mind me if I do After watching the modelling type tutorials: Some topics which were shown maybe can use some more in depth explanation in the future. For the current videos (modelling), to be honest, they were a bit (too) simplified explanations, bordering on being incorrect information at times. Keep in mind what the general level of the target audience's knowledge is. Going through the video's, the expected level of knowledge seems to shift every 5 minutes or so, something to keep in mind for further videos. Maybe this is something for next lessons, a better idea of what you are going to show (I know I've said this before). I know it is expected of people to have basic knowledge and you'd like to only show rF2 specific things, but I saw quite some 3dsmax stuff in there which was either skipped over entirely or explained in a not so clear/correct fashion for the viewer. This may lead to confusion or taking the wrong kind of information from this tutorial. Some topics which I think are quite unclear to the unseasoned participant or viewer: - Tesselate modifier vs Tesselate function - Tesselate/Connect/MeshSmooth/TurboSmooth - Poly resolution! - Unwrapping?Mapping channels? What the heck is that sort of magic? - I can't even find path deform anywhere, you pressed a button on a toolbar, I don't have that!? - my path deform doesn't work!!11 (the 2 different kinds) - path deform vs sweep vs loft - 3d modelling basics! If you need answers or explanations on any of these, just ask. Some old posts of mine, maybe they can be of help on one way or the other: http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.ph...-for-real-road http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.ph...l=1#post199914 http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.ph...l=1#post256564
This is a very interesting thread. I`ve been messing about learning the basics of max for a while now and done some modelling tuts (cars) although real life has also been getting in the way quite a bit so it`s been a slow process. I`m very interested in learning to mod though so will keep at it. Are there only 6 videos (out of 7) so far or am I just not seeing the wood for the trees...
Thank you x1000!!! This is what I need particularly when doing the terrain and the grasses. I learn better visually and this is perfect. Off to do some practice and testing. Can't wait for new stuff
There are 2 videos on the first page. One video which is private on page 2. On page 3 the videos start 1 out of 7 etc but I can only find up to video 6...
A video demonstration of blending track edges perhaps? http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.p...verge-from-existing-track?p=431676#post431676
Second video link is missing the .com in https: //www.youtube/ watch?v=CbJWvnONQbA (I've added spaces to avoid the url link showing).
3ds max basics modelling: how to create ("best method") string of objects? For example: fence wall, rail, barrier, cone, tirewall....
Maya to gJED 1 of 7 (by Gijs van Elderen) Gijs van Elderen kindly provided a 7 video series working with Maya and gJED. Above is the first video of the series, subsequent videos will be released every 2 days on the Racing Sim Modding Channel at 1800 UK time (next one due 13th August). If you want to contribute with 1 video or a video series in what is becoming a community contributed channel, then send me some download links to your videos and will put them up on the channel. Please either narrate the videos or put titles on. All I will do is add music if the videos are mute. Thanks all!

The video is private. BTW those videos are hypnotizing, watched them all despite I'm no modeller. [emoji6]
