As i said to nicola it seems to drive a modern car Maybe it’s tyres related. I think there is too much grip for a 70s car
I love these cars and that era but wouldn't it be wiser to make only one or two (or more...) but in a historical way because the physics is not there and the sounds of the engines either it's a shame not to mention the cockpits. The Chief does an extraordinary job creating all kinds of cars, it's a shame not to exploit them better, but I can imagine that it must be a lot of work. I'm a bit of a purist, which some people won't like, but when I drive, I like to immerse myself in exactly the atmosphere of the time. This is not a criticism just a suggestion.
Chief, which tyres have you used for this mod? The S397 2017/18 Michelin tyre model? Personally I prefer the previous model, used in the C6R GT2 as it takes longer to get up to temperature and does not give that spongy feeling that the 2017/18's soft and medium compounds give me. Also, if the degradation was increased quite a bit, I would say that the 2017/18 hard compound also feels pretty good.
I had a short ride and it is impressive - I used a 70 model and noticed the FFB really weak (needed to increase it above 100%); don't know if this is a real issue or has been mentioned before. I like the cockpit POV much - the scenery is "shaking" all the time according tracks surface and I think it is like the cars behave in reality. It makes a lot of fun driving them (will check VR, too). Many thanks for this mod
Yeah, we’re fans of @ChiefWiggum ’s work over at SR4L (SimRacers4Life) and are currently running this mod on our Wednesday fun sprint nights. The one thing that bugs me about all of these mods is the VR mirror issue - you have to select the option in Player.json that dissociates VR movement from the mirrors - otherwise I/you can’t see anything but sky if you centre your virtual head over the shoulders… I also agree with @StoneRacing about the FFB - I have to crank it up to feel much with my sc2 pro DD too. If there’s one other thing that would make my life easier as an online race admin - it would be that those cars that have engine options in the configuration screen are split out as separate entities. There’s such a disparity between the ‘71 Porsche engine options, for example, that we wouldn’t normally want to offer the turbo if racing against the ‘cooking’ 71 cars. For a league, I’d set it up properly but for our informal sprint races it’d be nice to be able just to use the basic vehicle filters in the dedi to build a bop selection. Those minor gripes aside, we’re loving the 70s-style F1 and sportscars.
