if you added F1 70's style parts to this mod, we would have an automatic "Alternate-Reality Trans-Am" mod :-D

Also, is there perhaps some misconfiguration in the aerodynamics settings for this car?
It just stops accelerating once I hit about 230kmh (even though it still has RPMs to spare, and, with as slipstreamed as it is, it should just keep going, but it's like the car is hitting an aerodynamic wall):

Which car exactly are you meaning?
Porsche 908 or Porsche 917?
There is no 907 car in the mod…
Anyway: consider that these cars have 5 gears….and in Le Mans ( better old version without chicanes ) You can really see the max speed of them…..and in my PC the 917 ( for example….no rear wing configuration ) the car may reach 320 km/h….
 
nice Story behind this Car, 300km Race on the Nürburgring......

Stommelen led the race up until the sixth lap, then he had to pit with a stuck throttle cable. His throttle was holding at 3/4s open. Normally, the race would be over for the 936. But given that it was a short race, it didn’t make sense to swap out the throttle cable. So Rolf got sent back out on track. He drove the car with the main power cutoff switch. Before a corner, cut the power (and the engine along with it), then power back on and full throttle. One can hardly figure what significant, ahem, driving power Rolf was dealing with.

Ah, yeah, driving the car on/off with a stuck throttle using the kill switch. Cool.

Stommelen finished second, even after all that. Unreal.
