Requested steam key and received it immediately. Installed and downloaded nearly all of the currently available content with workshop automatically, grabbed the other few available quickly and easily. Great so far..
..now trying to launch multiplayer and keep getting the message 'Online access for this account has expired'
It's a brand new lifetime key that I bought in the recent promotion...

About ISI contents, AGAIN, you don't have to do anything. You'll be subscribed to ISI contents automatically;
at the time you join the steam version, a mass download will start with all ISI contents and they'll keep updated along the time, automatically.
To install and manage third party stuff you can do as before; drop packages and install.
Of course, first time will be a long story because the amount of contents to be downloaded...but this is how steam works for everything.
As for the installation of course you'll get a completely new installation, in the steam form.
As for the activation code go to the Steam menu, GAMES----->Activate a Product on Steam and enter the code

You've never requested a steam key for the account that uses the email you're using on the forum.
The email you use on the forum, that NON-STEAM account, is standard, and is expired for multiplayer.

If you install the "Steam" dedicated server distribution, which incidentally can be downloaded by anybody, even without a Steam account, you get a dedicated server that publishes itself both to the ISI matchmaker and the Steam matchmaker. So all servers should show up there. I say "should" because in theory you could decide to configure a server not to broadcast its presence. Our goal with all of this was to not split the community.

i think i will just stay with what i have than go to a third party looks like it's more trouble than it's worth.
benefits i see for me would be only to see if friends are online nothing else.
well let's hope ISI do this for the ppl that dont want to be involved with other third parties..........

This worries me somewhat as I'm always short on Space and only race a small-ish percentage of ISI content, I'd rather not have to download itall, I can understand the reasons for doing this (and that it's perhaps how Steam works), but in future could there be something done to allow us to download only the ISI content we wanted? Maybe even a way to have a Lite Install (as we have now in non-steam) and download the ISI content via the 3rd Party way? thanks
