News post: http://bit.ly/1LcmSjM Keeping it as simple as possible. You can buy rFactor 2 on Steam here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/365960/ rFactor 2 = offline only rFactor 2 Lifetime = offline/multiplayer/no subscription required Online Services = Adds 1 year multiplayer to offline Be sure to check out things like the workshop: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse/?appid=365960&browsesort=trend§ion=readytouseitems There are a few guides up in the community hub: http://steamcommunity.com/app/365960 -- Already own rF2? You can keep using rF2 as you are now, buy another copy on Steam, or you can MOVE to Steam. When you move to Steam, your non-Steam access becomes DEAD. Also, your non-Steam subscription (whatever remains on it) is WIPED (you just get the offline version on Steam). Lifetime non-Steam users get a Lifetime steam key. You can get access to the form to request your Steam key on our FAQ page under 'purchase questions': http://rfactor.net/web/rf2/rf2help/ (Please don't link to the form directly so people are hopefully seeing the warnings a few times). Yes, non-Steam and Steam users can race together. The current build on Steam is the build you have as a non-Steam user. Steam users DO have some additional features, such as workshop, Steam matchmaker and a few other things detailed in the Q&A. NOTES: Steam dedi server will be an anonymous download published later today. Some background on the development from the developer who did the Steam integration for us: http://www.planetmarrs.net/rfactor-2-on-steam/
Great job ISI, payed 18 euro thinking it came with 1 year of MP just to support u guys. Now ive to pay 11 euro extra just to get online server. this is seriously bad. I already own the non steam version and upgraded 4 days ago to get online working again.
Excuse me I have no idea how the workshop works: will groups like URD be able to sell their stuff there?
So if I buy a Lifetime on Steam will it "Wipe" my current non-Steam Lifetime? Like the Steam convenience but some leagues do not update right away..........
If you buy another copy, you have two copies. If you request a move to steam via the online form: - If you own non-lifetime, any online access you have is wiped and you're given an offline copy. - If you own life-time, you're given a lifetime code for steam.
Firstly Congrats ISI on getting now both your games on Steam, quite a stepping stone moment I think I'm just mulling over whether to outright buy RF2 again on Steam and therefore retain my off-steam version, just weighing up the options and really wondering to myself if having it on Steam is really worth it right now...I guess in the long run it is (can eventually "give up" the off-steam one) and I have other Sims on there anyway...pay day tomorrow...I shall decide!
I have a quick question about subscribing to ISI content in Steam: Does that mean if a new version comes out, Steam will delete the old version and install the new?
Means you'll have all ISI contents updated and verified without any action, as it happens with other Steam games.
EDIT: Key received, never thought about the possibility of a delay. Was just too excited! Thanks, ISI!
Great so I change my none steam version so I then only have offline losing my current years subscription to online but I can then pay another £8.99 to get a 1 year online for my steam version. If I change, it will cost me £8.99 yes? I may be tempted.
If I bought the steam game I just assume I can copy and paste all my package mod files into the steam install?
