New build loaded with no problems. Had to copy plugins to new destination and they loaded perfectly.

    Great work ISI

    Autoupdate flawless and easy!
    Everythings fine!
But: There AGAIN seem to be changes that are not mentioned in the release notes!
    (AI setup gizmo...)

I did a fresh install and when with all the defaults except I put the data file in a different location. Now when I try and start rfactor2 I get this error "This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "windows". How do I fix that?

I searched this forum for the answer and found one where a person installed Windows 8 (that's not the kind of answer I was looking for). I am running Windows 7.

Can you explain exactly what you did as dashmeter pro simvibe and fanaleds plugins are all crashing my sim. Using both 32 bit versions of the plug in and 64 bit versions. Either way at the moment the sim is unusable for me without my plugins :(

I tried Lite installer of build 798.
Install is succeeded, but shortcut does not work properly.
I found that work folder for the shortcut to be created in the start menu is incorrect.
Another shortcut on desktop is correct.

The update mechanism does handle it. Read the post you're quoting in its entirety.

Check core folders and that plugins are in there, correctly located.

770 requires an active account to update auto. You'll have to use lite and install fresh to update.

Windows can't locate the libraries it needs. Reinstalling those would do it. Afaik they are in the data location for you to reinstall from.

Those often appear but often aren't a concern for you.

It was probably the 64bit introduction issues widely discussed, yes.

The data dir is sort of like leaving behind a save game, IMHO, useful to leave it.

What have you read so far? I've not seen much indication of it. Perhaps reading the whole thing before doing what the first sentence says would be the best. :)

Better than items in release notes not changed in the sim. ;)

You did uninstall rf2? Sounds like the start menu shortcut was not removed from the previous build.
