rFactor 2 Build 1080 Now Available!

A note for those putting up a Steam dedicated server, from now on if you place the content you're running (rfcmps) in your packages folder, anyone joining via Steam Match Maker will be able to download the content direct from your server's packages folder. This is not meant to replace GETmod, it's mainly so that you can share content that doesn't have a GET url, with those that join your server.

FYI,

Oval AI are still a show-stopper under cautions(full rules, flags, etc) for anyone that is wondering. Unraceable...and really a disappointment honestly. Had high hopes coming in, and completely let down.

I thought this was supposed to be fixed?!?!

I assume you're loading the proper Stock car rFm, as well as enabling the Stock car rules plugin?

If you want you can send us your replay and we'll have a look. Thanks

What is "Low Speed Information display" and where do I find the gizmo?

Added Low Speed Information display position gizmo.

I have game PC and server PC in same the network (LAN). I am hosting non steam rF2 dedicated server and everything was fine with build 1052. With build 1080 I can not see my dedicated server online and it seem not to be port or firewall issue. I can join ISI, ISR etc servers. The funny thing is that I am also hosting Automobilista dedicated true steam and I can see that server from my steam rF2 match maker(LAN) Is there some new line in multiplayer.JSON which is causing this?

Have you tried using SteamCMD dedi on your hosting PC?

Do you have the components the server is running? Getmod doesn't work, so your game can't download the missing components, therefore it fails... You can join any server running ISI-content though, as you have those components if you've subscribed to them through Steam Workshop, of course.

Trouble is, it doesn't even tell you if you're missing components or what components you're missing... It just fails or tell you your password is invalid.

You are correct indeed, I was trying to join a non-Steam server last night but didn't have all the components, so at least it's not completely broken. Still it's highly confusing that it shows "invalid password" when server in question didn't even have a password set, it should show "missing component X" etc.

I hope this doesn't mean getmod feature is done. Having easy getmod download available on all components is one of the main ways for our league to recruit new members.

[*]Default gamepad controllers now set various driving aids for an easier experience.

Hi, Thanks for the update.

Does the above just mean your version of TC and ABS are turned on by default with stability control, or is there something else being added in the backend extra for controller users. ie. - can I just go back into the menu and turn them off again?

Thanks.

Well essentially yes, it uses the existing driving aids. With the help of the 'Test Team' we tested and chose which aids are most suited to game-pad so that a new user will right away get the proper configuration, when first starting up rFactor 2.

...and yes you can just turn any driving aids ON or OFF if you like :)

Thanks for this build, we waited for a long time, but now we can save AI settings for a given car on a given track, and it is easy to adjust, adds a lot of usability to the sim.

Cheers.

FYI, Dissenter .RCD only has only two drivers. Also, cars are piling up at Nords while other similar cars do not. Not sure if two drivers in .RCD file navigate Nords better but regardless probably a good idea to make sure .RCD file is correct, especially if including in demo. Also maybe copy/pasting Toban section to a Nords section will help?
