Game is now HDR mode by default and we have to jump thru hoops if we don't want it? What was wrong with having the perfectly easy to use enable/disable ticker in the video options menu?
don't remember what folder is for the shaders...
I found solution. non steam ver. you must open 2 TCP and 3 UDP ports, Steam ver. 2 TCP and 4 UDP ports. Seem to bee few extra ports you must open then before![]()
Game is HDR mode by default simply because we do not support LDR as a feature and it therefore doesn't belong in the menu. From a philosophical point of view, having an LDR option in the menu would be like having an option to run the rF1 tyre model. It isn't in the menu either, for what everyone considers to be an obvious reason. So yes, there is definitely some logic behind this.
Great glad you got it working
Were these the ports you opened?
UDP+TCP 54297
TCP 64297
UDP 64298
UDP 64299
rF1 tire model is still present?![]()
Yes, it does appear to be darker and dull now, as if it's overcast. Possibly a side-effect of the improvements made to the sun occlusion ...have you noticed that the showroom is now very dark and ugly graphics than the previous build?
Well, AI cars have to drive it ... and LesiU beat me to itrF1 tire model is still present?![]()
That did the trick Tim. Thanks.
Strange though as I did a fresh install.![]()
Yes I did fresh install in new folder.Do you mean that user data folder was also reset when installing B1080?
Running the lite installer over an existing installation is NOT a fresh install. Creating a new core folder maintaining user data folder is NOT a fresh install. Any of those would keep old shaders and cbash files. fresh install is when both user and core data folders are built from scratch by the installer.
As I have stated in many occasions, the best way to make a fresh install is to create a new folder for that install and specify it as both core and data folders. You need for sure to reinstall content, plugins, key assignments.... and everything. But that is the price of having a fresh install. Myself and many other people have been working that way since the very first build without any problems.

Imagine a new or inexperienced user turning HDR off along with reflections or shadows, not knowing what it does or assuming that LDR is a supported 'alternative' ...
It was left in the .ini file for those who desperately need to run LDR for one reason or another which may be perfectly valid. You can still run it if that's what you really really really want, but we don't support, recommend or encourage it.

Into showroom there are not even shadows!!!
Please ISI, fix it.....is not possible see accurately cars!
For some reason, rF2 stopped working in my PC. I had to uninstall it and I used the v1080 Lite installer to get it working again. Is there a way to get the full version of rFactor available for download?
Have you tried different showrooms?Yeah shadows seem to not display in showroom, but 99% of users won't care about showroom anyhow so it's a minor bug. I'm more concerned about these connection issues from Steam users to non-Steam servers, that is something that could be affecting online a lot.
