OK, first off, how are you getting fog on the last shot? Second question, and we can take this to pm if you wish tjc how is it you get such good quality on your shots? I have all my settings to max and I don't see anything that looks even close to what you have. Do you touch up in Photoshop or something?

lol... it`s not fog Gearjammer but tyre smoke... that`s me sliding over the grass after causing a little bit of mayhem whilst braking a wee bit too hard and coming to a bit of grief.

On the quality thing all I do is max out everything in sim and I mean everything as high as it`ll go.

In sim settings:

Circuit Detail and everything else at Full or High (whichever is the highest option)

In the Display Window I have Texture Detail - Full

Texture Filtering x16 Anisotropic

In the Video Res Window I have Anti Aliasing - Level 4 (so that is the same as it is in the NVCP)

Sync - GPU

FXAA - On

HDR - On.

I don`t use NV Inspector or anything just use the NVCP. In there I have:

AF - 16x
Enhance the application setting
AA - 8x
4x supersample (sometimes 8x)
Texture filtering quality - High Quality
Triple Buffering and V-Sync are both on.

I`ll host the screens either from my blog or flickr which enhance the shots I think as most upload sites do to a degree.

Most shots are unedited in any way... some I might reduce the saturation a little or boost the levels but I say if I do. The other shots with motion blur added etc are obviously edited so no need to say for those.

Oh yeh forgot to say... I use fraps to capture the screens as png`s which makes a huge difference to the shots. Also set to png in my player file incase I ever use F12 for screens too.

Ah..thanks tjc ...in the earlier builds it was thought that running in windowed mode gave smoother perfomance,not to sure now mind you....i will be giving your settings a spin mate if you don't mind.

Thanks tjc, will have a look at my settings again to see if there is anything not quite where it should be. The screens being taken in png format I am sure also helps out some.

Thanks tjc...sorry to a pain but...a couple more questions, how many AI, and at what screen resolution
do you run with those settings (assuming you use single screen),thanks again mate.

 

At those settings I run with no more than ten AI... (I do get fps drop at race starts etc but it evens out then quite nicely) if I want to have a longer race with more AI I turn the supersampling down and kill the mirrors as I sit in quite close and on a single screen I can only see about a third of the mirrors anyway.

So yeh, I`m on a single screen, 24" 1080p running at 1920x1080 res.
