The Screenshots looking very good, i hope there will be an new Version to download soon Great Work, Thanks
Alright! Usually when I see this topic on top of the locations forum I'm like "uhh, are they still rambling about this track and its creator without doing anything productive?" But now I'm excited again! Question: when you guys talk about curbs/kurbs, do you mean the usual white/red stones in the corners, or those odd looking high borders on some parts of the track that Pleclair has created for some reason? I hope it's the last one, because I've tried to search for those "curbs" in real videos (and Forza/GT videos), but I can't find any proof of existence. If I could get my hands on the 3d mesh, I'd like to remove them.
DJC is tweaking the AIW file to make it league ready. That's a tricky task because there is not much room for the cars in the pitlane/garage area and needs some testing. The rest looks pretty good. We have done some performance optimisations with the LOD settings. The textures have been resized, so the memory footprint should be smaller. We have modified the tdf (no dust on curbs, better rainspray, added missing materials). The list is endless. One question remains. Should we rename the track (to avoid collisions with older versions) and what name should we use?
Mh, no need to rename it IMO. When everything works than nobody should use an older version anyways! But: the naming "Ring tourist" is in general not the best solution. I´m always looking in the list under "N" like Nordschleife or Nürburgring, then I remember...
Yep I would name it "Nordschleife Tourist" so it can be distinguished from versions as “Nordschleife VLN” or “Nordschleife 24h” that might follow in the future. I’m really excited about the upcoming release, and thank you so much in advance! oh could you include the version number in the loading screen maybe?
Never understood the "Ring Tourist" designation of the original. Might as well have been "Green_Hell Schleife Tour Version"
Here are some numbers tested with unstable build 389 64bit. System is a i5 2500k, 16GB RAM, GTX 670 2GB, Windows 7 64bit. Anti Aliasing level 4. HDR enabled. No AI cars. Max details VRAM 1778MB, System RAM 2000MB, 70fps in cockpit view 7AM Pits High details top four settings, reflections low, rest max. VRAM 1272MB, System RAM 1550MB, 89fps Medium details top four settings, reflections low, rest max. VRAM 1163MB, System RAM 1410MB, 91fps I see no problems at all for 32 bit systems. For cards with less than 2GB VRAM I have no idea how much system RAM they can use.
Pleclair used textures twice as big as 'normal' and did not want to resize them. so we had to lower detail in order to run the track or crash pc. I think it was the grass. so when I saw your post I was like jay. but we'll see, no biggie. I just forget to lower it in settings and then have to reboot each time I initially run the track
