I really dont understand this refund business in any way.

As a proffesional, I spend working hours to produce something which I sell.
People have the choice to buy it or not.
Before they buy it, people should make their homework (asking other users), if the product meets their needs.
If it doesnt, they are to blame because they didnt choose well.

Why do I, as a seller, take the blame (and cost) for their incompetence?

Well Nikos, not every business person is honest, and not all products are easy to research to determine product suitability. For those reasons it became necessary to have an option to request your money back on a purchase. Some people take advantage of this as often as they can.

The problem arises here in the US when someone uses a credit card to make a purchase. In my computer store we had one person purchase a very nice system. A week later we hear from our credit card company that the customer did a charge back saying the product was defective. We never heard from him again and we never got our money from his credit card. Unfortunately, the cost to try and take this person to court to recover the loss was more than the loss itself.

First off, I'm content to wait as long as it takes for rF2 to go gold. I'm having fun with the beta. That said, I think this is a valid point if not legally then at least ethically. I mean this deal is so open ended that a middle aged person could die of old age and never see the gold version of the game he bought into in advance. And some of us are closer to that then others!

Just speaking generally. Not looking to begin a discussion about contract law and explicit v. implicit promises. Not impling ISI has intentions to swindle aging members. :D
