I was kinda hoping this would be an "all in one" editor but you will still have export into a 3D program then into RF2, which turns me off somewhat. Yes I'm maybe wanting too much from one program
...and that would be too easy, we'd end up with 30 versions of every track and all would be hideous rF1 hacks, the artists building from scratch will surface soon enough.... [emoji6] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Indeed. Especially the track modders in FSR are a bit fed-up about the current methods available for doing track editing. And it's also impossible to detect what causes those invisible walls, totally random at some tracks - much less fix them.
Sites like rFactorCentral have rating systems - and there's a reason they have them. rFactor 2 modders should use it more. Oh, and RaceDepartment also has this.
The cream will always rise to the top Besides an "easier" tool will encourage more budding track modders so you could argue we'd get more quality in time, works both ways
rfactorcentral (since simraceway took over) has burned a lot of users. I particularly avoid it, deleted my account and won't download anything from there.
Yeah... rFactorcentral went downhill. I tried building a similar site, but after a few days the host shut me down and said too much bandwidth. CVan't wait for this to go live. I want it now!
Fantastic news. I cannot wait to get my hands on it!!! I wonder how long from greenlit to release.....
I know this is old, but for the benefit of others that read this thread. What utter garbage! How about cleaning up some of the stray verts and holes? Totally random if you have no clue what you are doing yes.
I wouldn't exactly tell @stonec that he has no clue what he's doing, and he's been unable to clear invisible walls at Spa for over a year now, on and off. And he's resurfaced the whole area. But thanks for the polite reply.
Those invisible walls do not exist, these collisions are caused by (too low) height of the car to hit against the track. To avoid this it is necessary to configure the car correctly, height and suspensions.
If GJED (http://wiki.rfactor.net/index.php?title=GJED) and RTB can work hand in hand, then things could get very awesome!
Sorry but let me ask first... When was this GJED tool released? It is the first time I've heard of it and I am sure that like me there will be many others. It seems that it can be a very good (and free) alternative to 3dsimed for converting tracks, avoiding 3dsmax. However, I haven't read in a fast glance through the wiki page, however, if it imports both rF1 and rF2 gmt files. It would be nice if someone could confirm it. I don't see however how can it work together with RTB I'm a different way to what 3dsimed does. The explained features (what GJED can do) are very basic. From what I have read, it hasn't been confirmed by Brendon what export options will be available. I know that AC is in the target since a lot of actual BTB customers are asking for it. However, since there is an easy option (3dsimed) to convert rF1 to rF2 it isn't confimed if a dedicated rF2 export will be available. Some of us have explained that many shaders from rF2 need to be supported, which is one of the biggest drawbacks for easy rF1 to rF2 conversions. From what I understood FBX export might overcome many of these issues but I cannot affirm it since I don't know much about FBX. Enviado desde mi GT-I9505 mediante Tapatalk
gJED hasn't been released by ISI yet, still in beta phase I have read. Sounds very promising though, if Brenden could possibly work with ISI to make these tools work together somehow. The reliance on the 3dsmax plugins currently are a stumbling block.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/388980 RTB has been released today. 55 € is the price. Many features still missing to be usable IMO. Enviado desde mi GT-I9505 mediante Tapatalk
