Lets talk about the MERC GT3 FFB?

Nothing is going to change with the Merc FFB. One of the devs looked into it and said it's correct the way it is ‍♂️

Tried it again yesterday in hope for something more across the lines of the other GT3s but same problem as reported by few users here with steering getting unrealistic light and numb as soon as angle increases

went back to the ApexxModding variant and had a blast with what should be the proper behavior of that car
At one point they were looking at that... guess it's back on the list for now.

What bothers me is that all other cars in this pack drive great, maybe the R8 could be improved nonetheless but yeah mostly enjoyable except the Merc
Why such less love to this car?

There are some...who claim the Merc has the best ffb. Almost every time this topic comes up, there are users who do not want anything changed. I think at low speeds the Merc does provide more small-details feedback. But then as your pace increases it all gets washed out and does the opposite of what most of us expect.

I wonder what level of statement (dev, real driver, ...) would be required along the lines of "this car behaves correctly" for people to accept it?

Just a philosophical question. Not saying it's right or wrong.

wondering myself why one of the most respected modder on this Forum did the car differently

Yet just another philosophical question. Not saying it's right or wrong.

You mean the somehow sarchastic and pedantic part?
If expressing a concern about part of a Game we buy is not allowed then whats the point of a Forum then?
You seem to be in the denial so is that wrong if people have different opinion?

What?

And why can't you reply to me?

Ah, never mind. I meant what i posted as an honest, thought provoking question. There's a line there somewhere and I wonder where it is.

Apparently anyone not posting "yeah, the Merc is plainly and obviously wrong" is disagreeing with you. Have fun with that.

then please just stop the cross purposes talk on that particular issue, you seem very defensive here.

Your initial post was meant to be "philosophical" and now you are blaming me for pointing out your real opinion about this car behavior being "right".
Just be a man about your thoughts and stop playing the little immaculate girl, for sure "Apparently anyone not posting "yeah, the Merc is plainly and obviously wrong" is disagreeing with you." because I have, and for Godness sake few others over here, have the exact opposite opinion.
I share the OP concern, you don't.
That's called an argument and people are entitled to have different opinion than yours so please respect that.

The biggest problem with the Merc is still that the AI has problems to handle it. This shows me, that something is wrong with this car

you are right but it´s a bit strange that only one of the GT3 cars has problems on some tracks. I modified some AIW´s only to keep the Merc on track

One thing I should have mentioned when I am comparing that one to the APEXMODDING car

the latter is the old SLS and the one designed by S397 is the newer GT

So not strictly apple to apple but still very much front mid engine cars altogether
