GP79 conversion with permission

Arno, I recently downloaded the latest version of your excellent mod. I am running an Nvidia 770 w/2gb on board on an ASUS MB 4570 processor and 8 gb mem. Great mod, and I have had no problems with your mod. Thanks for this fantastic mod.

I tried v0.45 and I'm getting very strong ffb with lots of vibrations even with car going 20km/h but the major problem is that everything slows down to few frames per second (normally I have ~120, gtx 780 here). Anyone else? v0.432 was fine. This is with build 930. Anything else with 930 is working fine.

 

I can only report it's working fine here. Neither of those symptoms are apparent to me. Also a GTX780.

Quite a while ago, this popped up with this mod (and a few others) when certain tracks were installed - such as the DTM tracks.... don't even remember where I got those.
remove correct tracks and problem went away.

Is this what is causing your slowdown?? Don't really know, because this was maybe 3 or 5 builds ago

 

Not with this mod. But with the Mak corp F3 i do have it.....

I'm trying to get an alternate virtual mirror resolution file to work in the GP79 mod as a skin. Unfortunately the tips suggested have not worked, and I think it may do with the fact that the MIRROR.BMP file for this mod is not located in the specific vehicle MAS but rather in a "common" mas file for all of the cars [common_79.mas]. Any suggestions? Anyone been able make this work.

this mod's physics would imho work great in all other 1970-1980 F1 seasons (same engines/tires), is there some plan to create such a new mod pls? I believe cars were already modeled for rF1...

Somebody should update this mod! Still fun, and now we have good 70's tires from ISI.

 

OMG! This and the arrival of the1975 season would be huge and put rF2 back in pole position at my house!

And I would be remiss not to thank everyone that contributed in the past to GP79 in its various forms (and special thanks in advance for anyone that takes on bringing this latest version into rF2).
