Thanks for help I've changed: Seat pitch to 7500 & ffb to 7750 ( from default of 10000 ), losing a bit of track surface but those big jolts on wheel was starting to put me off using rf2 It's like I have a new build, ISI should have a new section in forum for us to post our wheel type & best settings to help them with defaults (some people refuse to touch .ini .player files ! )
I made physics for new car in our mod and it has Caster -1.25 degrees, Camber is +0.125 degrees by GM specifications from late 1960's, before I had adjusted force strength it was tad strong and oh boy how it started to pull towards turn after some point of turning, had to fight with wheel to get it straightened again. Geometry has quite big part to that effect, many of those old cars have Caster and camber bit weird compared to today's standards and certainly those have bit of reputation not having best steering feel. Now if there would be just a way to get slack to steering from several joints in steering
Maybe some guys missed to delet their .plr file with new builds.... Maybe it had been different numbers through the year... I for myself use a Seat Pitch of 10.00000
Interesting Flaux... I`m sure my player file is deleted every new build as I do a complete, new install every time but maybe the numbers have been different each build, I`ve never looked before.
My plr file has never been deleted since I installed the day after release so perhaps things were changed a bit later on.
Adjusting seat pitch was a good find. There was a FOV thread that brought my attention to the seat pitch var and that improved my enjoyment of the game. One thing I haven't heard anyone speak of though is the Yaw settings. I use a projector giving me a roughly 60" (goal is 1:1) image and with the default Yaw setting of 25% the result is more like massive body roll than weight shift. I know this effect is being used to help simulate the feeling of putting a car into a turn at speed but it makes me feel like I'm driving a old sedan and not an open wheeler. I switched this to 20% and I very much like the result using the F2 @ Sepang. Hope that helps others, worth trying.
I believe there is upcoming sale of flames soon I have Yaw setting at 0, like most of other such settings as I would like to see what car does.
Spinster; can't you select "all cars and tracks" than? If you do that, choose the F2 (and as opponents too) and you can choose any track you have installed.
VMods are pretty easy and quick to create. Here a video tutorial (the VMod "chapter" starts at 1m 45s)
totaly agree... i've played a lot with cambers and general setup of the car and now i can feel it much better...no more loose wheel in slow mid corners... best car so far!!!! (DFGT WHEEL)
