Hi ethone, thanks for the update. I just did a quick check about the vram issue. Graphics card is a GTX275 1792MB. All Settings @ max. AA Level 4, HDR on. Practice with 20 GT cars. v 1.01: FPS 55-75, vram consumption 1668 MB. v 1.02: FPS 55-72, vram consumption 991 MB!!! Good job. The track should be a lot better for people with less vram.
Well done Ethone, well done. I take my hat off to you. You totally fixed it. Fantastic fps all the way round (high settings, 21 AI, 8 x AA - you know my settings!). This is a fine example of a modder listening to community feedback, having to identify a problem with relatively unfamiliar software, successfully identifying the problem and fixing it to great effect. My hardware is modest, as you know Ethone, and I push it hard but I'm getting constant and stable 55-70 fps here now. Congratulations, and thank you very much for your time.
Guys... This might sound like a stupid question but does v1.01 have to be uninstalled and then v1.02 installed? I ask as I can`t uninstall v1.01 as I`m told there are mods that are using that version of the track but when I check what mods are being used by it the list is empty... I can`t seem to just "Update" the track to v1.02 either...
I'm not going to give any guarantees, but as far as I understand it, you can keep v1.01 installed and just install v1.02 "in addition" to it. Only (v)mods that specify v1.01 will keep using it, in AllCarsAllTracks v1.02 should be loaded from that point onwards.
No, 1.01 does not have to be uninstalled. Update does not work because it is a full release (think of it as a completely different track).
Version 1.01 was unplayable due to very heavy stuttering even though the framerate indicater told me everything should be fine. Version 1.02 runs as smooth as ISI's tracks now for me, so a big thanks for that.
Is this circuit still being worked on? It's really good but obviously still in need of some work. I don't think it's far off being one of the better tracks available for rF2 right now.
I'm happy with the track, if you find there is some specific area that needs work you're free to try and convince me. Otherwise, I'd rather spend my time bringing more tracks (like Nazareth or Le Mans) to the sim. Modders could literally spend forever working away at a single track to continually improve it but at some time it starts to become inefficient. I haven't checked this in a while though: Did any feature (HDR? Shaders?) break with a recent rF2 build update?
Re: ethone/Virtua_LM: Fuji Speedway 2012 Thanks for the reply. There are a couple of things: First, fuel usage doesn't appear to work, as was mentioned a few posts ago. Second, I've noticed some track surface textures flickering in the braking zones - it's the dark tyre marks - I can post an image if you want. Has anyone else noticed this? If you consider the circuit to be finished then that's your call. I know nothing about modding so I respect what you've done already. I just feel with a little more work this track can be up to the high quality of the other two Virtua_LM circuits.
Agree Sometimes there is no point to get back to older tracks and it's better to work on new one. I think tracks created by your team on rf1 were one of the best at that times and even today on new platform they are good enough that you don't have to work on them to much Really great stuff.
