[WIP] CART 1985

I tried this awhile back with a G29 and found it a blast, but with overly sensitive steering. Looking at the setup, it was showing 720 degrees in the steering range! That's what you'd find in an old road based touring car, a typical open wheeler would be in the 360 range - or even less., but I didn't want to quicken the steering in any way so left it @720. I tried the other day with a Fanatec CSL and it feels a whole lot better in the steering, much more progressive and drivable. Any reason for this to have such a large degree of steering range!

Loving this mod. I hope I will eventually get to play this game in high def some day. :D

no Chief on indy.... it dont work with the standart cofugiration

my engine blows after one lap, I lift the trottle! but no succes. try it
 
It's been a while since I've driven this mod. But you can't have full boost on all the time. It may be good for a lap or two. You may have to open up the radiators. Avoid drafting for long periods of time.

The engines were not super reliable at the time, so you have to drive them at 80% of it's full potential

This thread started on Nov. 16 2018 with a pic of a in progress beginnings of the Al Unser T500 Lola, then somehow morphed into a CART 85', mod, any chance of returning to work the 78' T500 ?
 
So now that I got my DP-01 project complete, I'm turning my eyes to this one before starting my next big project. I just want to work on getting the IBL/PBR shaders working, and maybe do some file clean up, if required. I have a couple questions

1. Was an Eagle template ever released? I'm not seeing it in my files
2. @ChiefWiggum, I know you collected all the .PSD for all the cars. Do you happen to have all of those? I would need to use them as a base for creating the _region.dds
3. I think the chrome that the game uses is going to be too shiny for the cars to be used as the aluminum. Anybody have a good .json setting for aluminum?
4. More of a general question. Cars these days have their liveries made with vinyl strips or whole print outs that are placed on the car. Back in 1985, I know the main bodies were probably actually painted. My question is for their liveries, would those be some kind of vinyl or would all of that probably be hand painted as well? Just trying to figure out how to make the regions and settings for it.

Chris I still have all the PSD files from the skins I made, so if you need them, hit me up and I'll send mine to you.
 
ok, I will upload my skins also, but it is a little bit chaotic, I have many different folders with Skins, and I updated the March also, so I hope that this skins fit with the models from the mod.
 
Great the 85c mod is getting more work, is there any chance the 78' mod someday could have more cars than Unser 78' Lola, as in Gilmore Foyt Coyote, Penske PC 9 ?. as there aren't 70's Indy car mods for rF2, only asking.
