I tried to change the nose. Get it a bit more...angular. I copy it and flip it to have an inside too. I also detached it from the body. That should be correct, because the nose should be able to come off when crashing I guess. The nose looks a bit wierd when I render it, some parts that are not changed are smooth, but the parts I've changed are very angular. But I'll take care of that later, lol. I've changed the front, remade the radiator and added the damn pipes. The engine got a few more details. Exhaust outlet and water outlets (thats gonna be connected with the pipes to radiator). Next project will be the cockpit I think, before adding too much details around.
Yes, probably I don't know anything about texturing so I'll have to learn that too. lol. But it's the right thing to wait until model is finished before texturing, isnt it?
That's some amazing work. That car looks fantastic. I know I've seen it somewhere before but didn't know it was for rfactor. Is it?
Its here http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/threads/historical-formula-cars-for-rfactor-2.50288/ also this from MAK http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/threads/mak-classic-cars-mod.50621/
I can't wait to create the exhaust, they were so beautiful in the 60's But it will be complicated, I think. But I should finish the rear first, with suspension, gearbox etc. Right now I have a hard time to finish it. I'm working on the frame (not sure what to call it) for the engine and where the suspension is attached. Also the part where halfshafts comes out is not to much fun because I have no idea how it looks. For every single picture it looks different and I can't trust my blueprint anymore, lol. Looks like I've to freehand draw a bit. But if you guys find any pic that could be useful, I would appreciate that very much. So, engine frame and gearbox part.
http://members.madasafish.com/~d_hodgkinson/brm-H16.htm A big mess with BRMs with the H16 engine. I wonder what your blueprints of yours say which car they refer to.
miscellaneous A very good collection of Donnington car photos with a lot of details here: (no point uploading them as they are grouped together) http://www.renaissance-models.com/Galerie/brm_h16.htm
It's pretty the same with modern F1 cars...Every GP they change something in the car (formula 1 cars are in a progressive and continuous development, day after day, week after week, year after year...), so when you've to model the same car, you've to choose one version only or you risk to going mad mixing different versions.... So, nevermind about messed up materials. Get your reference point (blueprints are the best imho) and proceed with this...
I'm making the frame for engine/rear suspension but I have a problem. I first made the part that's marked and I then copy it and rotated it and connected polygons betweeen the two parts. Problem is the edges between my vertices is disappearing when doing this Sometimes it happens when copy objects and connect them. As you can see it looks strange. There are just a few edges left in this object. All is visible and normal when I'm in edge mode but in polygon/vertex/element mode they disappear?
