For 2023, the Dee-troit GP will move back downtown ....
Meanwhile the Belle Isle circuit will be repaved in various sections ...

News from the Isle. New version available at the first post.

New in this version, made with great help from our mate haunetal1990, who put a lot of time, work and energy in this project.
    - new walls
    - new fences
    - new fence posts
    - new bridges
    - new tirewalls
    - new sponsor textures (all this above was done by haunetal1990)
    - new gras texture (from S397 Loch Drummond)
    - some performance optimizations (i hope so) as we saved a lot of faces/vertices and materials
    aso

Next big task on the agenda will be the trees...

Hope you wil enjoy this new version.

Gave it a quick spin earlier today and it's coming along really nice!
Only remark that I have is that the tarmac seems a tad too reflective, being specially visible when the sun hits it diagonally.

Man... I think we need more bumps :-D
Belle Isle makes Long Beach look like a Grade 1 FIA track.
The DPi shake so much that I question if the drivers aren't using a mouthpiece...

I know that the offical tracks are not encrypted, so would it be possible to "copy" a bumpy Sebring part for Belle?
Like for T7 to T11, I think it is?
I obviously have no clue about track modding, but I know something like this would be possible in painting :p
Also I don't know how legal this would be.

A good chunk of all the S397 tracks ARE encrypted. That is why they have two file versions for each track. One that can be edited, and one that says "do not touch." @PatientRF2fan was working on a bumpier version of several tracks used by Champcar(Indy). Perhaps he might offer some insight.

His revamped version of Cleveland is brilliant, but according to him, it was painstaking process of checking on-boards and then work on the mesh...

We can always consider that - and this is not wrong - the tarmac @ Belle Isle has been progressively deteriorating, so this could be, let us say, 2013's tarmac :-D

Upon closer review, driving the IR18 with 100% FFB with 9Nm peak torque... I think it's bumpy enough... :D:D:D
What seems to be missing is the crest over T2 (or is a bit too soft), a (double?) hump on T6, two smaller humps between T8 and T10 and another just after T11 on the left hand side.
    Dang, my hands hurt...

Just came by to thank for the track.
One note: some of the ads on the walls shimmer while I'm driving, if I remember correctly it can be fixed with a texture mipmap bias setting (or sthing like that). After that the textures in the distance will become a bit blurry but it won't shimmer.

Hi Manfred, I found the new trees too bright when receiving sunlight (on the side of the shade, they look OK). They look on my system as if they were from an old track, not aligned with the rF2 graphical updates of a few years ago...

Outside of that, I would love to see T2 to have the hump, right as it transitions into the straight...
And... the patch of tarmac between T8 and T9 deserves a new texture, in my opinion.
