This track was originally made by Enders for RF1 (https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/detroit-belle-isle-2017.145016/) and was converted by Schumi for RF2. Full credits go to these both guys. Both gave me their kindly permission to release this version to the public.

AIW is made by atomed (who is also my patient beta tester), answering my stupid questions and a lot of help by Andrea1968 - Thanks you, guys

First of all: i have zero experience in track making or track editing. Did so far only a few AIW optimizations which could be found in the AIW thread.

I did "this Belle Isle 2017" just "for my own". I always loved this track but struggled with the performance in VR and was also not happy with the road mesh. So i tried to do some optimizations to the more than 1000 tree objects with 3DSimED and had a quick success. I replaced some of the track side objects, made some green a bit greener, scaled some objects down to a imo more realistic scale, added some animated guys and track side objects, corrected some texture issues, subdivided the roadmesh and added bumps (i hope you like it, Enders).

There is still much more work to do (visgroups, shadow groups aso), but maybe you like to try the current state which runs well on my system in VR. If you dont like it, please dont rant with me. As written i am a complete noob.

like the track, but sadly AI dont refuel , drive thru pit lane but dont stop in pit box and run out of fuel... in all sessions, like the path to pit boxes/stalls is wrong.

@atomed , you've done the aiw... maybe you can take a closer look on that...?!
 
@Lars i tried it before uploading the new version with the LMP3. Set tyre use and fuel use to 4x and they all pitted for fuel and tyres
 
I am in love...
Did a few laps with the Dallara IR18, selected Practice with real road progression at 10x so the track gets the texture you see on racing weekends and it becomes truly gorgeous in VR and it's a joy to drive at.
Unbelievable to watch the AI cars in front of us hop over the larger bumps and shake the rear a bit under power...
