Released April 2022 Release Candidate Update

Impressed !

I am going to watch that announcement video at least ten more times, because it makes me very happy. Besides ABSOLUTE MAD LAD LIST OF IMPROVEMENTS, the editing and the music of announcement video is really awesome.

Super surprised and excited about many improvements listed, but the sound improvement blew me away, so unexpected and in the video sounds to be superb, seems to be huge improvement.

The sparks are beautiful, seemed a bit much in Le Mans, but perhaps car lowered on purpose to display them. Also IDK if they are not too visible in daylight, but I am good with them.

I expect there might be lots of imbalances in RC to be polished, haven't tried it. But with so much and significant improvements, a lot of rough edges are expected. Hopefully gonna be ready for the main build for summer.

V. 1128 release candy.
Form Pro can no longer be shifted, gets stuck in 1st gear.
Form Pro Test, but can be switched.??
Onboard sound very dull, doesn't sound good. All other noises, tires, cranks, grass, etc. are transmitted too loudly.
Engine sound much too quiet in the cockpit....
Was much better before! Just sounds stupid!
This is the case with all cars! It's not possible!
Also, I had to restart Steam and rF2 at least 5 times before it was even playable again?
Either you do a fix or I'll switch back to the old version!
That's not how it works. Bad update, my opinion.
If so please without error...

First impression: finally the rain conditions look as they should, very good. finally names in VR! The sound changes seem very homogeneous. But must test more, will catch up tomorrow....from changelog: fantastic thank you very much

Settings from old build? Changed sound there? If so, you might have to rebalance that.

This is a "Release Candidate". You have to choose to use it on "Steam Beta" This is exactly how an update like this works. By choosing to take part of it, you are testing the update before it gets released to stable.

I think sparks are quite visible in daylight too.
here is a video >
(look @2:41)

Also i love how sparks are realistic, i saw it formed a vortex shape at diffuser exit in that final leman clip. also not to mention all those sparks comes from different underbody points too.

Meme is life, so I just post this without reading anything here

This all seems very impressive to me! I haven't been able to drive rF2 for a few weeks but will have some time very soon, can't wait to try all these updates.

Hm, the AI seems to be dead. The AI cars dont move at race start. No engine sound, no movement...nothing
I ran the Indycar at Portland and the AI performed as expected. Sound is huge! We will have to fiddle with the settings as now things that were muffled before like tire skid or rolling over curbs is quite loud. Watching an AI car with my headphones presented a marvelous stereo effect as the car moved across the screen.(one hint though...don't rush from a 24hr GT practice setting at night and then attempt to drive an Indycar around Porland when only the main straight is lit. <don't ask me why>)
I ran back here too quickly, didn't see any sparks but I could hear a lot more ground interaction, especially when off track.<again..don't ask>

Yeaaaahhh, what a very nice update.
I just saw the video (not tested it yet) but, waouw.
Never thought you where doing it so soon and bam, it's there. But also, never lost my faith (me) lolll ;)
Congrats and good work Studio 397 !
Cheers

Again: I know what a release candidate is. A beta test version. I've had this version on my rF2 for as long as it's been available.
Only with no previous version I had such a problem as with this one.

Onboard and driving sound is too muffled and too quiet. Engine sound goes down. Affects all cars, all!
The background noise is unnaturally too loud and sometimes also too strong or too loud, like tires-curbs-grass - i.e. the next thing on the track.
This does not fit in relation to the previously mixed good engine sound.
Just sounds amateurish! Kinda unfinished.

However,
the trackside sound, on the other hand, is excellent! Very well.

Sparks great who needs it.

I'll pull the rest of the update in these days, let's see.
So far, however, rather unsatisfactory in terms of what I've driven so far.
So, around a few times, sound onboard not my thing! Was better before.
Sound is important, also onboard. No fun without proper onboard sound.

Sound setting from onboard 25 (series) to 100, or effects from 64 to 256 doesn't produce anything audibly better for me.

Maybe 397 will give us a tip on how to get the sound settings right.
I haven't found a solution yet.
