Released April 2022 Release Candidate Update

Having issues with the in-car engine sound with this update. I only have two speakers (stereo) & the sound of my engine when in-car is completely drowned out by the opponents. When I select the look back feature to see behind me the external sound of my car is normal. No issues with any other sims.
Which cars?

I had reduced the Sound Effects under the Legacy Sound. But when I reloaded the sim, the sliders were all back at their default positions.

Wow the spatial audio is really really good when just set to headphones! I could really place the car as i circled around it, with it behind then to the left and right and even to the front sounded great, could definitely place it was in front rather than behind. I do however need to lower the Ai engine volume level. I have raised the number of effects to 150, should i raise it more? What benefit will this give?

Performance is pretty bad, under 60 fps on a wet Sebring with ultra settings with my 3080/10600k at 5760x1080.
Also after i finally got reflections to work it is so very shimmery, the track surface and puddles literally flicker and is really distracting.
I had to restart 3 times before getting reflections to work, this is what i saw each start with a wet track preset, black puddles.

The more sound channels, the more unique sounds. IF your system can handle it, set the sounds to 256 and forget it. If you find stuttering or loss of framerates. Cut the number in half. Test again. Raise or lower til you find YOUR SYSTEM'S sweet spot.

Thanks mate, i will raise it and see how i go. I'm already suffering a bit with performance but turned off SSR and seems to have got back quite a bit, a positive side effect of turning SSR off is i seem to have removed the ugly flickering from the puddles.

I'm super pumped to try the improved camera controls, I've been asking for this for ages! If it works as I hope the possibilities for making cool videos will be huge :D

Very impressive list in this RC, nice work.

I sense a major improvement in the sound engine itself and it's a great surprise. It's currently difficult to strike a good balance in various sounds without access to more sliders. The audio is obviously WIP but, the immersion factor is already improved significantly, imo.

Are we able to control individual audio channels? The wind noise and Ai engine is far to loud. Fully sealed tiptops shouldn't have such wind noise and the Ai engine is over powering the player car.
I reduced the legacy effects to 50 and it helps but still needs to be set to player preference.
3 channels for Ui volumes! No need for a hover button volume, lol, give more control to the player please.

EDIT: I don't think the wind noise is actually wind noise but rather road noise! If i go on the grass it goes away, so it seems to be road or tyre noise but not tyre scrubbing.

The other cars sounds drowning your car engine sound (that you can barely hear) seems to be largely car specific. For example there's this problem with GT3 (try it on Lime Rock with 16 AI GT3 for example).
Also, I hope we'll get a separate slider to adjust sound from other cars as it can quickly get tiring to the ear, especially on headphones.
Otherwise good job on the sound system improvements !

Couple of things i would like to know / add on this update

1. What is HRTF is sound settings ?

2.The sound i tested on fpro (onboard engine specifically) feels like it lost its quality, too loud in someways(which thankfully can be tuned down with onboard settings).
idk how to explain it properly but onboard engine sound got worse.
Normal version is like listening to music directly via headphones
RC version is like listening to same music but you recorded it via your phone mic.(hence low quality).
i hope this analogy makes sense.

3. I can't gear shift on fpro(normal version only) , i can only go 1st or N or R.
I tried with BMW M4 class 1 , there gears are working.
I also tried assigning new keys to shift up but i can't go above 1st gear.

4. regarding sparks, for some underbody points(atleast I think they are underbody points visually speaking) the spark is generated a little bit forward.

This is fpro (test version), these are sparks for front floor strake/fins and they are appearing a bit forward.

Sorry to give you criticism so early, i don't mean to put down your efforts. This so that all of this can be fixed earlier :)
