Consider the AI over-taking each other. IF you are an offline user and the AI gets stuck behind another slower AI car, it can ruin a good battle.
The AI is so bad that I generally prefer to put myself in qualifying mode by putting a high number of AI : It allows me to have fun and to challenge me while being in a certain immersion (thanks to other cars), reducing the negative effects of AI. I do not understand that people find that the AI is "acceptable", it must be essentially online players which don't care about it. If after the UI @Marcel Offermans announces that they will work in depth on the AI, it would be a great positive "signal" towards these offline users (since with the S397 competition system sends a very positive signal to players online).
They were the best in the business and in tight corner racing they still are, I love the way they can make mistakes too. But get them on a fast long open tracks with straights they are the worst in the business. Reiza fixed it with their ai even acc ai overtakes on drafts. I'm sure s397 if they put the effort into offline will fix it. But it would be nice to hear marcel say that it will get fixed or ai will get support.
I was just kidding, of course it needs a fix and i believe it might happen, but right now they've a LOT to focus on, probably not a priority and i understand that...
They haven’t got anyone capable of doing it, unfortunately. Otherwise, it’s likely it would have been addressed many years ago. Real shame.
Many years ago? How come? ISI left an incomplete and bugged software in lots of areas. Studio397 took over 3 years ago i guess, so you can't expect that EVERYTHING comes from night to day!
It might be superior in AI department, but the physics will never be, despite the tons of dollars you need to spend to rent it...
Because in rFactor2 the connection between the car and the track is on another level, probably is related with the software engine... also the tire model is not that good in iRacing and keeps customers complaining about it constantly...
This is the reason why i am asking. I am new to ex-isi software. Its interesting to know what does it have under the hood what makes it different from others. And all i have found is some notes from moding teams and many many "ifeel" posts
This is great news for sure, but to what extent is that "UI" (user interface right ?) such an important thing for future developments ? I mean, this is just a menu right ? Or is there more to it than this (like competition system alike iR or anything I can't think of right now) which is more than just "UI" ?
The way the current UI is coded there is no easy or quick way to add extra options, etc to the UI. So with the new HTML web based UI they say it will be possible to finally expand and improve rF2. I have no experience with programming so I'm just repeating what has been stated previously, old/current UI = , new UI =
AI`s are predictable and are easy to race no mater how good they are but when you race against Homo sapiens (Wise man) it is different story.
