http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php?p=293876 It was just that the phrase "fresh is install required" could be confusing since it is not actually required when autoupdating as it is explained but looks as a small contradiction. I eas trying to avoid someone else getting confused as it happened to at least two people. That's it.
It was explained in the linked "more info" news item more fully, mentioning auto update clearly, but I edited the first post now for people who won't read it. Thanks.
In the x86 program files folder? Your post said you put dev mode in x64, which isn't the location dev mode tries to install to.
do i need to install rfactor 2 on default location in this build or i can use another location(Hdisc). yes i did install 798 lite and 798 sdk in this locations: on my F: (always was using this location even with770),then i tried on default location CF x86,and then in x64 program files.always same massage
You should be able to do wherever Windows has proper rights to execute. How are you launching it? Direct exe clicks? Launcher? Could I get a screenshot of your location containing the exe, with the path visible? Sent using Tapatalk
thrue launcher always.but did try with exe to how i can make screenshot of the location?do i need some software?
YAY! Out of curiosity, what will happen when we reach build 1000? Will that be rFactor3 or what? Will the launcher automatically pick the 64bit exe now? Do I need to set something to 64bit? Should I read the changelog first before asking stupid questions?
Why build 1000 should be some kind of limit? It's just a number attached to certain installment. Makes navigation around lots of them logicall and organized. Sent from my RM-825_eu_poland_261 using Tapatalk
While typing my post I realized, I should have read the changelog first. And sorry, my kids ate all the cookies
First, thanks for quick update! So just to be sure, it`s ok to clean the pc for rf2 files except the backups? cause i`m left with ca 29gb after uninstall from controlpanel. Would be nice to delete as much as possible. I have backup of /userdata and /packages and also the /.rFactor So can i delete this two showed in picture safely now?
If you receive this QT error when clicking the rFactor icon, View attachment 13669 then do the following: 1) Right-click the rFactor icon. 2) Select "Properties". 3) Click the "Start in" field. 4) Append "Launcher" to the path if not present. 5) Click the "Apply" button (bottom right). EXAMPLE If the "Start in" folder path is: "C:\Program Files\rFactor2" Then change it to: "C:\Program Files\rFactor2\Launcher" Make sure quotes surround the path. View attachment 13670
Mine is correct as you indicate, works fine from a desktop alias. When I try to launch fR2 from the Taskbar I get the error. I can't get to the ico's properties when on the taskbar, shouldn't have to. Very odd.
Thanks for the answer. Exactly what "data" directory are those files in and how do I re-install them?
Two things other than the above: 1. None of my 64bit plugins work with v798 or pre-release 789, they both did work with v770. They are the Dash Meter Pro and the SimXperience 2.0. rF2 freezes (not responding) when on track and the plugins begin to load. 2. My custom skin loads fine once on track, it also loads fine when viewing the on-track replay. However, when exiting the track and viewing the replay, the car reverts to its original mod skin.
Autoupdated, seemed to worked. Two questions: 1. Do I delete the old "plugins" folder now that we have new bin folders? 2. Why don't I see option for selecting between 32bit and 64 bit versions? View attachment 13674
