Just an update on Lakeside. I have redone the main track and now adjusting the terrain and the terrain. It is a bit of a mission as my first effort had lots of errors in it. It will look great I think. More soon
.....I am also adjusting the terrain, the terrain and the terrain. Did I mention I am adjusting the terrain?
I can imagine that's job is very hard and repetitive with these errors. Unfortunately I can't only encourage you, so keep up the good work !
When I say error, I mean not as accurate as I want. I also need to have sections that are period different, i.e. 1960 vs 1980s vs today.
Still working on the terrain and roads etc. Once that is done, I will get it running in the RF2 game just to see how it behaves. When I am happy with that I will start to populate the track. It will end up in both RF1 and RF2. View attachment 9278
Got the track and terrain in game (RF1 at the moment) and will have it in RF2 later. Doing it a little different this time. Should be a nice little track when done.....
Hi guys, Got a huge amount done today with the terrain and track sections done. The pit area is rebuilt and now I am starting to add the wall and fences. I have taken thousands of photos of the track so I am trying to be as accurate as possible. Here are two wip pics. I am doing RF1 and RF2 side by side. View attachment 9454 View attachment 9455
For rFactor 1, probably. The grass is very close to the real thing (depending on season and rainfall) and so is the road. There are about three types of bitumen used on the track, and also quite a few repair patches. Still lots to do. The rFactor 2 version may not have real road as the real track never gets a race line to speak of. I will see where that ends up....
The RR is not just a visual effects set, it's a physic simulation of the road surface (dynamically calculated) and you need it to make everything working correctly, as tire models, rubber, wet/dry conditions, marble effects on tires, wearing etc..etc.. If you think your road do not need a dark groove line just make it brighter.
Aaahhh OK. The real track hardly rubbers up and gets the dark line. I did not realise about the other.....thanks But it does get rubber pieces build up........see pic. On another note about the new track section I have done in this version, the track is less bumpy but still has lots of character and is so much nicer to drive around now. Even as bare as it is now I did a number of laps tonight and it just flows so well..... More fences tomorrow.... View attachment 9476
Not a big deal. If you want a very light effect for the groove line just use a brighter texture. This is what I mean; View attachment 9477 Feel free to experiment with this texture (don't forget the alpha channel) and I'm sure you can get the same effect I see in your picture.
THIS IS SOMETHING OF IMPORTANCE TO ALL MODDERS.... ISI SHOULD HAVE A THREAD WITH THINGS LIKE THIS IN IT FOR ALL MODDERS. now we know why conversions with out real road... SUCK
WHY ARE YOU YELLING For modders they already know what real road does, it's those who convert that are unsure (not all converters, but I have seen some tracks that haven't even had read road added).. It's in the PDF that ISI released from the very beginning. EDIT.. Here it is rF2 Track Technology V3
^^ well obviously some ppl don't know how to read. YELLED so ppl would read it, it worked but now I know some cant or wont.
