If you are looking for information/details about certain cars from those years gone by, ERA Motorsport UK has a thriving business refurbishing Lolas and Mclarens and who knows what else. Thier website is not the most informative, but perhaps you can get into contact with some of the folks behind the scenes. https://www.eramotorsport.com/
Hello, we have a Server running with the Österreichring, maybe someone will join us https://discord.gg/5Bhdc3WN After we had a great championship with his F1 70’s Style we stay in the same years but this time with a SportCars 70’s Style-mod. We were looking for great places to race these cars and together with the Automobile Club de l'Ouest we came up with a spectacular calendar with a lot of classic and historic not always correct venues. The mod will be again a league edition with the same physics for every car but we want you to decide what the best physic is. Chief Wiggum and his team created a lot of different cars and you decide in a poll what car will give us the physic for the season. This is the reason why there is a preseason test. It will take place at the Österreichring. There will be a long practice, a quali, and three races with 20 minutes length. And it is allowed to switch cars whenever you want to or better we would be happy if you do so. The second 20 minutes race will be started in the dark (make sure that you have the button selected) and in the third one it will rain. Check out the dates of the calendar for this championship. Join our community and be part of the simracers revival. https://discord.gg/5Bhdc3WN
It's been a long time since i've taken a spin with this mod. Took a few laps on the server with the Shadow. It felt really good to me. only two issues I had with the Shadow is that the mirror position was "off". I think they were pointed too low. And then, I'm not sure what it is called, the rF H-Pattern shifting. If you don't let off the gas long enough to shift, the car would still accelerate, but at only half a gear. If you let off the gas, with out changing gear, it goes back to normal. I hope that makes sense. I'm not sure if this mod uses the new GearProtection shift settings, but I think the way it works with that is a bit different, and more realistic. I haven't taken time with mods that have that implemented. Other than that, it is coming together pretty great. The group 7 cars are great to see in game. If you want some more inspiration on a few cars that aren't in other games (or very rare), Japan had a group 7 scene for their Japanese Grand Prix. I thought these cars were a bit newer but they do fall into 1970: https://www.dailysportscar.com/2021...t-never-raced-13-toyota-578a-the-turbo-7.html https://www.dailysportscar.com/2021/06/25/sportscars-that-never-raced-12-nissan-r383.html
I know the raised wings were banned by 1970, but I'm glad the wing is an option for those of us who remember the years with Chaparrals, Lolas, Mclarens, all with rear wingw proudly raised up high.
Agreed. Would have given the Mclarens a run for their money in the early 70s if it would have raced. There was an AC mod of the car that stalled out. It would fit right in with the cars here to provide that "what if" moment.
The early Can-Am cars were often faster than the F1 cars of that era, when they competed on the same tracks. And the prize money for 6 quick races in the fall was astronomical for the time period. Thanks for the video, so far no stoopid music during the racing scenes. A WINNER! It is funny to see the all conquering Ford GT40 well back in the pack. The Le Mans cars were probably too heavy and running engines designed to a safer spec than the heavily overstressed Chevrolet and Ford stock block engines.
I wish we could get the original Road Atlanta Layout. That track was not part of the original series, but did come in early to replace the Washington State track at Kent. (not England's Kent you knobs!) ((near Seattle)). Stardust in Las Vegas & Brainerd in Minnesota.(Which I have only sim-driven on with an AMA Superbike title at least 10 years ago.) I know repeating posts over and over...THANK YOU SO MUCH Chief. These cars make an old Fart's day!
