Quick question for you guys, if I make a skin, and I give that skin to someone, can they see me driving it online? I would not mind releasing skins of my own if the answer is yes. Also does the dedicated server need to have same skin too for it to work?
We need a "Post your skins here" thread.

If you share your skin, and if its named correctly, the people who downloaded it, and locate it in the correct folder, will can see and choose the skin.

The problem with player created skins right now is that if you make a skin for a car, and your friends make skins for the same car, only 1 will be visible as they would all have to be named the same in order to get them into the game.

 

You can add a number after 'alt' to get numerous alt skins for the same car. (MS7_3alt.dds, MS7_3alt0.dds, etc..)

 

Sorry but this is wrong.

You just name the skin as alternative. If you name the file FR35_28alt followed for your name or unic name. for example

FR35_28altRGrueira23.
FR35_28altMVinatea17.

And you made a skin for the same car (FR35_28) if you name it like FR35_28Gjammer99 (the last number not is mandatory) If you got the skins in "Settings" folder, (where the setups is saved) normaly in C:\Documents\rFactor2\UserData\player\Settings\FormulaRenault35s
(You need to create manualy the folder "FormulaRenault35s" And the same for the other mods, just need to create a folder with the modname. You can to know the correct folder name in this location.
C:\Documents\rFactor2\Installed\Vehicles)
You would see all the skins in the server because no overwrite any skin.

They are still working on the things they had to fix (per F2 wishes). Not a long job, just seems that way.
