Surprize is easy to take, while waiting may be too much for some

 

Isn't this one of the game's flagship mods, quite high profile? I'd be surprised to see it out before the game went gold, and I seem to recall that ISI staff said it was due for release 'later' in the year? Maybe this is a prime example of the develeopment switching course off the back of licenses gained.

This is later in the year. We didn't specify before/after 'gold', and still aren't. Hoover adds it once he knows our car names used, really doesn't predict release, except this time he might be.

Devs are not having much fun with turbos, pain to do, but that will probably be the major feature added with the F2 that you guys have been waiting for from ISI for 10+ years.

Don't really expect an answer but it would be nice to know what exactly is so difficult to model about turbos.. I'm not a programmer myself, so....

I'm not even close to being an expert, but these are a couple of things I imagine could complicate things:

• It's basically a dependency loop: higher rpms = more/faster exhaust gas = more power = higher rpms, etc.
• Not all turbos are simple: we now have multiple/variable vane turbos that change efficiency

something as complicated as this would have been better releasing after gold....IMHO getting on with giving us gold and finishing the stuff that's in wip first would be better and a lot more popular. Then incorporating the complicated stuff after that release would be better.
