Originally created for rF1 and converted with added rF2 features. It's a long way from the ton of improvements I put on Fuji but I figure the track in its current state is much better than no such track at all. The track was suggested at RSC when that forum was still alive and I liked the layout despite it being pretty much just a regional US track that at its heyday was used by the SCCA for their runoffs and had a few NASCAR Truck races. Those who suggested the track helped during the building process and made it a very enjoyable project to have worked on. This conversion with the added features is for them. [The excellent cameramen and non-ISI marshals you see were created and shared by Gilles Benoit back in the rF1 days]
thank you for another track to drive .... the stuff around looks nice ... now the round of VMODs will start again

Many thanks ethone for the track, looking forward to giving it a blast later. Just one thing from the readme: - AI is imperfect, waiting for final AI from ISI If you dont mind me asking what exactly is it you're waiting for? something to do with the AIW Editing side of things perhaps? just curious as I know the AI will be improved upon post release but guessing thats a more uniform enhancement.
There is something different about the AI in rF2 than it was in rF1 and as far as I can tell it made them a fair bit slower even with a properly driven Fast Path and correct corridors. This affected Fuji a lot. For Topeka the Fast Paths (the line the AI takes) are still the old rF1 ones and while functional they're not really perfectly driven. They could do with an update but I won't be doing that before the AI is final and I can properly test it without fearing it will be changed in the next update. As for what I'm waiting for: Just that it's final. Scott said that it isn't final and that there will be updates. So I will wait with finalizing the AI until that has been done.
I see thanks for the reply, like most of the game I see the AI as an ever improving feature so would hope when it goes Gold the AI will be Final to a point you track guys are happy with, otherwise you;d need to be updating it and I cant see that happening as you work on other tracks...another argument for the AIW to me editibale by everyone and not hidden in the Mod!
Wow! I felt right at home. The sky looked like a perfect afternoon in Kansas... I live in Kansas, so I was happy to see this excellent track. I think that there will be a lot of folks who are going to enjoy the track. Can't wait to get a bunch of guys & and gals (can I say that?) on this track for an afternoon of online racing. Wonderful job, thanks for sharing it... Randy
The slow AI are caused by using rF1 parameters in the aiw file. WorstAdjust=(0.8000) MidAdjust=(1.0000) BestAdjust=(1.2000) In rF2 they are now using WorstAdjust=(0.9000) MidAdjust=(1.1000) BestAdjust=(1.2000) This will make the AI faster. All track makers should use the new parameters to keep things uniform. Mid Ohio uses the old style and the AI are slow there as well. Tony
