I was on the RC branch Tommy and that updated correctly for me. At this point in time, there is no difference between the two branches. But that might work, changing branches may reload something that was either missed or corrupted.
Great UI (except for "click to start". I have to click already for the game doesn't have focus when it starts. Now I need to do 2 clicks.) 15 to 20 % fps drop though compared to the last RC. Can we have it back 'till hotfix?
Haven't had time to try new UI yet but what do you mean by fps drop? While in UI or on track? If on track how can UI affect that? Does anyone else have fps drop while driving?
is this just my pc freaking out or is this new for this release? it is flickering 3-4 times everytime I drive through the start finish line.
Haven't seen that yet, only tried two tracks so far with the new UI. I would suggest double checking your graphic config settings prior to launching rF2, and maybe changing PP or other options to see if that makes a difference.
This is exactly the same thing with MSFS2020 when it first came out, they put a click to start type of beginning screen and removed it in one of the pretty early update. Hope studio 397 can do the same thing)
One of the things they attempted with the last UI, about a year ago, was to improve the performance of the UI transitions by uncoupling the UI's refresh rate from the sim itself. What some users found almost immediately was that the screens did refresh quicker, but the track loading suddenly bogged down. (and this was soon after a modest track loading improvement had been rolled out) So that might be the issue he is concerned about.
The game no longer recognizes my DD2 after the new UI. Tried verifying game files, etc, nothing works. Gonna try a complete reinstall.
A complete re-install will not do much UNLESS you use Windows to wipe every single folder inside rF2 after you use Steam to uninstall the sim. Steam only removes the core shipping product plus associated updates. Any user folders are left behind which probably means your issue is still there. Try re-naming the UserData folder first. If you get to a black screen, either click with the mouse or hit the space bar. My 2nd load of the UI gave me that black screen, I hit the spacebar and up came the UI which was in the process of installing updates to some cars.
This could get very circular, but: that's what Balazs meant. He was asked how the UI would affect on-track fps; he said I don't know, how did fps affect loading? ("I don't know") Anyway, if this sort of fps drop is widespread it will very soon become apparent. It would seem likely to be an isolated case, but let's see.
Never realised pressing the mouse button twice was so difficult, get real. It might be your set up causing the fps drop, personally I felt there was an increase in fps, I was also using the last RC.
I think as rF2 evolves it becomes slightly more hardware dependent so the older systems might feel Tax'd a bit now? As for me, I have better performance along with a nice FPS increase! & I Love the new UI its very reactive & smooth, Great Job 397!
Congratulations and great job! However the replay module is running a replay that's not the one I've selected. Edit: I must have deleted the wrong replay and renamed another one. Doh! I LOVE the new interface. Excellent work! Well done!
