I too have never heard the spotter, ever. I thought it was just something that wasn't in the game quite yet. All my sounds are set at the default levels from a fresh install and the spotter on Full. I've adjusted the volume sliders but still don't hear the spotter.

I have never heard the spotter, I thought maybe I am too slow and he doesn't think my lap time is worth mentioning

I keep thinking I hear a little snort of disgust when I cross the line.

Please bring the rFactor (1) spotter back!

The voice spoke more naturally and was loud and clear. Please bring the old spotter back.

I can tell the spotter is calling out my times, I just can't tell what he's saying. Guess I need to continue to mess with the sound volume.

He`s not in balance with the other sounds yet (Tim said this in an earlier post in this thread)

Sounds like something only ISI will be able to fix.

I'll try the volumes, but I have never heard any spotter, not even really faint (tried b198 and b218).
Maybe because I have the data files in D:\ instead of the default?

Besides adjusting the volumes (spotter at least double than the rest), try installing Core and Data in the same place, or just copy the folder Installed\Commentary from Data to Core.
    This worked for me.

jGraf mentioned trying this in post #7...

I`ve had them both installed in the same location since day one and only ever heard the spotter very faintly even with volumes adjusted etc.

That`s just my findings though, as it seems to have worked for you Armando.

I think I found what was wrong for me.
I tried copying the "Commentary" folder in C:\Programs\rFactor2\Installed. That did not work.
What worked instead was the following.

When I noticed that the "Commentary" folder also had another "Commentary" folder within, and then "1.0". I tried moving up the contents to the parent, so to not have "Commentary\Commentary\1.0" but just "Commentary\1.0".

    That did the trick!
I can now hear the spotter just fine.

However I don't know which Commentary folder did the trick (C:\Programs or D:\...) :)

    Yes, it has. :)
Previously I had tried changing the volumes to no avail. But when I saw that suggestion about the Commentary folder I tried that. At first I started to hear the spotter faintly, as you say.

But after adjusting I can now hear it quite clearly. These are the settings I am using now:

I`ll test this out to see if it works for me.

    Cheers.
